Obama's Stimulus Plan Destroyed 1 Million Private Sector Jobs; Kinetic Pieces of Our Libyan War are Intermittent; Netanyahu Schools Obama; Prosser Wins Wisconsin Recount; The Extinction of Cars as We Know Them; Tennessee May Deny Teaching of Homosexuality Before High School

Newsbusters reports: On the front page of Wednesday’s Investor’s Business Daily, reporter David Hogberg reported that a new study found President Obama’s “stimulus” plan “may have destroyed or forestalled employment, including more than 1 million private-sector jobs.  [His plan worked perfectly!]

ABC News reporta:  White House on War Powers Deadline: 'Limited' US Role in Libya Means No Need to Get Congressional Authorization

President Obama wrote a letter to congressional leaders this afternoon suggesting that the role is now so “limited” he does not need to seek congressional approval.
A senior administration official told ABC News that the letter is intended to describe “a narrow US effort that is intermittent and principally an effort to support to support the ongoing NATO-led and UN-authorized civilian support mission and no fly zone.”

“The US role is one of support,” the official said, “and the kinetic pieces of that are intermittent.” http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2011/05/white-house-on-war-powers-deadline-limited-us-role-in-libya-means-no-need-to-get-congressional-autho.html

American Thinker reports: "We don't have a lot of margin for error," Netanyahu said to the president. "Because, Mr. President, history will not give the Jewish people another chance."
Netanyahu, whose father is a retired academic, offered the president repeated history lessons, saying Jews have "been around for almost 4,000 years. We have experienced struggle and suffering like no other people. We've gone through expulsions and pogroms and massacres and the murder of millions. But I can say that even at the dearth of -- even at the nadir of the valley of death, we never lost hope and we never lost our dream of reestablishing a sovereign state in our ancient homeland, the land of Israel."
The topper came when Bibi told the president, "Hamas has just attacked you, Mr. President, and the United States for ridding the world of bin Laden. So Israel obviously cannot be asked to negotiate with a government that is backed by the Palestinian version of al-Qaida."
It will be fascinating to watch the dueling speeches at AIPAC - Obama on Sunday and Netanyahu on Monday - as well as listening to Bibi's Joint Session of Congress speech on Tuesday. Expect more war of words from both men as Netanyahu exposes Obama's pandering to the Arabs as the naive maneuverings of a rank amateur.

The Wall St. Journal reports: A grueling statewide recount concluded Friday that Justice David Prosser defeated challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg to win another 10-year term on the Wisconsin Supreme Court in a race driven by the debate over Republican Gov. Scott Walker's efforts to curb the union rights of the state's public employees. Unofficial results showed Justice Prosser had 752,697 votes—7,006 more than Ms. Kloppenburg's 745,691.  http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704816604576336082590069422.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

Floyd Reports: H.R. 1687 would mandate that 50% of all new cars and light duty trucks produced by 2014 be engineered to run on some type of alternative fuel. By 2016, the percentage of new alternative fuel vehicles increases to 80%; finally topping out at 95% in 2017.  Step aside, Free Market, Big Government coming through!  If only “We The People” weren’t so obtuse.  Unwilling to do the right thing; passing over Chevy Volts in favor of Ford F-Series Pickups and Honda Accords.  Shame, shame.
Unburdened by frivolous things such as actual consumer demand, the Government will save us from our folly.  We’ll plug millions of new electric cars into our aging and already underpowered electrical grid.  http://floydreports.com/environmentalists-new-plan-abolish-normal-cars-by-2017/

KnoxNews reports: A measure that would prohibit the teaching of homosexuality in Tennessee public schools has passed the Senate. Under the proposal approved 20-10 on Friday, any instruction or materials at a public elementary or middle school will be "limited exclusively to age-appropriate natural human reproduction science." Republican Senate sponsor Stacey Campfield of Knoxville says "homosexuals don't naturally reproduce."  http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2011/may/20/senate-oks-bill-ban-teaching-homosexuality/
