Hap Blog reports: Vice-President Joe Biden At AFL-CIO Rally: "You Are The Only Folks Keeping The Barbarians From the Gates" (Video) http://www.hapblog.com/2011/09/biden-at-afl-cio-rally-you-are-only.html

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Teamsters RealClearPolitics adds: President Jimmy Hoffa had some profane, combative words for Republicans while warming up the crowd for President Obama in Detroit, Michigan on Monday.
"We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They've got a war, they got a war with us and there's only going to be one winner. It's going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We're going to win that war," Jimmy Hoffa Jr. said to a heavily union crowd.
"President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong," Hoffa added. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/09/05/jimmy_hoffa_at_obama_event_on_gop_lets_take_these_son_of_bitches_out.html

Moments after Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa Jr. declared the labor movement the "army" in a war against the tea party and rallying a Labor Day crowd to "take these sons of bitches out", President Obama thanked Hoffa and declared how proud he was of him. http://www.breitbart.tv/obama-declares-hes-proud-of-hoffa-after-hoffa-declares-war-on-tea-party-sons-of- bitches

The Daily Mail opines: Jimmy Hoffa got his job as Teamster president the old-fashioned way: He inherited from his father who had the misfortune of being offed by mobsters. On Labor Day, the AFL-CIO and the Teamsters decided for irony’s sake to rally in Detroit, a town ruined by the UAW, and the SEIU loaned them President Obama to serve as their main speaker.
I am curious as to whom they plan to take America back from. Themselves? The unions and the Democratic Party won it all in 2008 and afterward they confiscated GM and divvied up much of $500 billion (the spending part of the stimulus) among themselves in the cynical pursuit of the almighty buck.  http://blogs.dailymail.com/donsurber/archives/41690

Seattle EPI  writes: A tea party group called on President Barack Obama to rebuke Teamsters President Jim Hoffa for urging him to use supporters at a Labor Day rally as an army to march and "take out" tea partyers, describing the remarks as "a call for violence."
Obama was not on stage at the Detroit rally when Hoffa made the remarks Monday. The White House declined to comment on the flap.

American Thinker opines:  I've only recently come to realize the nature of the hurdle this country faces in trying to turn around a stalled economy and horrendous deficit.  Here it is: liberal Democrat politicians have completely convinced huge numbers of their followers that our economic/fiscal mess is the result of two principal demons: 1) "the rich," and 2) the Tea Party.  The former, of course, has been a longtime liberal scapegoat; the latter is a new one.

I can't begin to try to recount the angry emails I got from liberals insisting that the reasons for our deficits/debt problem is not over-spending by the federal government, but greed by wealthy people who don't pay "their fair share" of income taxes and by dastardly "racist" "terrorists" in the Tea Party.  And, yes, I actually got emails (many of them) from people insisting that Tea Party members are "terrorists."  It is astonishing to see, but it's absolutely true that when Democratic Party officials mouth charges like this, they are immediately accepted and repeated by their followers.  It's very dispiriting.  And to observe an American public, only 10 years removed from September 11, somehow equating Tea Party members with "terrorists" leaves me almost speechless and hopeless. http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/09/the_democrats_invincible_ignorance.html

Townhall writes: Florida’s young Republican Senator Marco Rubio gave an important speech at the Reagan Presidential Library in California that has set off the liberal talking head universe.
He had the temerity to suggest that the huge growth in government’s role in American life over the last century “actually weakened us as a people.”http://townhall.com/columnists/starparker/2011/09/05/marco_rubios_courageous_speech/page/full/

Fox News reports: The head of the U.S. Postal Service said in an interview that the organization will default -- perhaps as early as this winter -- unless Congress intervenes.
But he said Congress needs to step in to help keep the service alive.
"Our situation is extremely serious," he told The New York Times. "If Congress doesn't act, we will default."
According to The New York Times, the service will be unable to make a $5.5 billion retiree health care payment later this month and is expected to run out of money to pay workers and other expenses early next year. This could force a shutdown in delivery.
Averting that outcome doesn't necessarily mean a bailout. One thing the service wants from Congress is a law to effectively nullify a contract prohibition on layoffs -- part of Donahoe's plan involves laying off 120,000 workers, but he needs Congress' help.
Some in Congress are also looking at letting the organization recover billions in supposedly overpaid pension payments.

Muslims Against Crusades calls for 9/11 demonstrations:  In light of this Muslims Against Crusades in conjunction with Shariah4America (www.shariah4america.com)  have launched what is likely to be one of the highest profile demonstrations of the year. On September 11 2011, as people across the world fall silent and reflect on the unforgettable moments that took place at 8:46am and 9:03am ten years ago, Muslims will stand united outside the US embassy in the heart of London, to declare that they have been defeated – that the US has indeed lost the war. http://www.muslimsagainstcrusades.com/press-releases/you-lost-the-war-9/11-demonstration

Seattle EPI reports: “But we’re not going to wait for them,” he added. “We're going to see if we’ve got some straight shooters, see if congressional Republicans can put country before party. We’re going to give them a plan and say, ‘Do you want to create jobs? . . . Show us what you’ve got.’ ”
The remarks came as the president attempts to restore public confidence in his administration’s ability to create jobs, boost the economy and avoid another recession. http://www.seattlepi.com/news/article/Tea-party-calls-on-Obama-to-rebuke-union-chief-2156443.php

The UK Daily Mail reports on America: Teenagers in Florida were handed belts as they returned to school to make sure they comply with the state's new 'pull your pants up law'.
The new law which bans saggy pants on campuses was voted in last spring but has just come into force for the 2011-12 school year.

Florida joins Arkansas in the state-wide school dress code which bans the prison inspired fashion trend.

Wall St. Journal writes: Amazon.com Inc. has put forward a plan that would create thousands of jobs in California in exchange for a reprieve from the state's new Internet sales tax law, a move that comes as the online retailer clashes with state governments around the country.
The Seattle-based company's plan calls for it to invest in California-based distribution centers, where it fills orders for delivery. In the proposal, Amazon pledged to create 7,000 full-time jobs ...
