More rules and regulations from the Obama Administration are revealed by Human Events:
1)
Interagency Working Group on Food Marketed to Children issued these new recommendations that the food industry says will cost more than $28 billion in revenues and manufacturing the first year it takes effect.  Congress never received the required report prior to its enactment.
2)      The Obama bureaucrats said, “There is a linear relationship between television viewing and obesity.”  [Will banning TV viewing be next?]

This week, Sen. Robert Menendez (D., N.J.) introduced the Teachers and First Responders Back to Work Act, a $30 billion federal spending proposal to prevent teacher layoffs. [This will provide jobs for one year, after which Democrats can again complain that we need another new hire-the-teachers bill.]  It’s co-sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.), who argues that school districts can’t improve if they have to “jam more students in every class and lay off literacy and math specialists.”  [Math specialists are not being laid off more than any other.]

Public-school staff hires have significantly outpaced student enrollment in recent decades. Since 1970, public-school staffs have increased by 83 percent. Over the same time period, student enrollment rose just 7 percent.
Meanwhile, the teacher “share” of staff positions has declined dramatically. In 1950, teachers constituted more than 70 percent of school staff. By 2006, that figure had declined to just 51 percent. Expose Obama opines: Taking note of the [Occupy] crowds’organizers, Floyd and Mary Beth Brown say people should prepare for violence from the Occupiers themselves. Adding additional reason for concern,Clinton pollster Doug Schoen wrote in yesterday’s Wall Street Journal, that “nearly one-third (31%) would support violence to advance their agenda.”Like the mobs some of these same groups whipped up by in Seattle in 1999,violence could spring forth from the ranks of the affluent aggrieved themselves.
Violence could as easily be brought up from without. While the city’s police dutifully attend to the antics of spoiled malcontents, terrorists could strike at a location on the other side of town left underprotected.
But violence could hit closer to the OWS protesters yet. Suppose you were an innovative jihadist looking for new ways to strike fear into the heart of the Great Satan. Where would you strike? Terrorism,by definition, means targeting the civilian population to make a political statement. Where could you be assured that, wherever you are in the country, you would be able to locate a large, earnest, welcoming crowd of infidels?

Human Events reports: Vice President Joe Biden now says he didn’t make a reference to rape, and got testy with HUMAN EVENTS when we asked if he would like to retract his comments that the number of sexual assaults would increase if Republicans don’t sign on to Barack Obama’s latest “jobs” proposal.

“I didn’t use, no no no…Let’s get it straight, guy. Don’t screw around with me,” Biden lashed out at HUMAN EVENTS.  Then Biden confirmed that he indeed did talk about rape in terms of the President’s spending measure. “Murder will continue to rise, rape will continue to rise, all crimes will continue to rise,” if the Democrats agenda isn’t passed, he added.
It was on Tuesday during a speech at the University of Pennsylvania where Biden initially argued that another round of government spending was needed to prevent sexual assaults.  “It’s not temporary [administration’s proposed stimulus] when that 911 call comes in and a woman’s being raped, if a cop shows up in time to prevent the rape.  It’s not temporary to that woman.”  Then in the same speech he wished Republicans were themselves rape victims.  “I wish they had some notion of what it was like to be on the other side of a gun, or [to have] a 200-pound man standing over you, telling you to submit.”  [If you take time to watch the video, you will see a demonic-looking man spewing hatred, a shocking thing for a Vice President of the United States.]   http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=46983

The Hill reports: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Wednesday indicated Congress needs to worry about government jobs more than private-sector jobs, and that this is why Senate Democrats are pushing a bill aimed at shoring up teachers and first-responders.
"It's very clear that private-sector jobs have been doing just fine; it's the public-sector jobs where we've lost huge numbers, and that's what this legislation is all about," Reid said on the Senate floor. http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/house/188443-reid-says-public-sector-jobs-must-take-priority-over-private-sector-jobs
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
More hateful speech, this time from The Hill: Reid also dismissed efforts by the Republican House to ease environmental regulations as a way to create jobs.
"The Republican response has been cutting back environmental health safeguards, I guess hoping that a sicker, more polluted country is a better place to create jobs, and it's not," Reid said. http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/house/188443-reid-says-public-sector-jobs-must-take-priority-over-private-sector-jobs

Hot Air opines: From the recession’s low point in January 2009 until April 2010, when Obamacare went into effect, the private sector created about 67,600 jobs a month. After the president signed PPACA into law, that number slowed to a meager 6,400 jobs a month — a more than 90 percent decrease or less than one-tenth the previous rate.

As the Heritage report explains, Obamacare discourages hiring in three important ways:
  • Businesses with fewer than 50 workers have a strong incentive to maintain this size, which allows them to avoid the mandate to provide government-approved health coverage or face a penalty;
  • Businesses with more than 50 workers will see their costs for health coverage rise—they must purchase more expensive government-approved insurance or pay a penalty; and
  • Employers face considerable uncertainty about what constitutes qualifying health coverage and what it will cost. They also do not know what the health care market or their health care costs will look like in four years. This makes planning for the future difficult.
Democrats once touted that Obamacare would create jobs, but the data underscore the reality that that’s not true for the private sector. The only jobs Obamacare created were within the new agencies and layers of bureaucracy the law added to the federal government. http://hotair.com/archives/2011/07/20/report-private-sector-job-creation-ground-to-a-halt-almost-instantly-after-obamacare-passed/

KLFY Louisiana reports: Cold hard cash. It's good everywhere you go, right? You can use it to pay for anything.
But that's not the case here in Louisiana now. It's a law that was passed during this year's busy legislative session.
House bill 195 basically says those who buy and sell second hand goods cannot use cash to make those transactions, and it flew so far under the radar most businesses don't even know about it.
"We're gonna lose a lot of business," says Danny Guidry, who owns the Pioneer Trading Post in Lafayette. He deals in buying and selling unique second hand items.  Hardy says the bill is targeted at criminals who steal anything from copper to televisions, and sell them for a quick buck. Having a paper trail will make it easier for law enforcement. http://www.klfy.com/story/15717759/second-hand-dealer-law

American Thinker opines: The question is, when will reality set in for Obama?
Closing out his bus tour on a low-key note, President Obama made a pitch for his jobs package at a firehouse, where a subdued crowd needed a bit of prompting to applaud his proposal to boost the economy.
Anytime a crowd needs "prompting" to applaud what a president says - especially on friendly turf with presumably his core supporters in attendance - you might want to get out the butter and jam because you know the prez is toast.
On Wednesday afternoon, Obama stood at a lectern against a backdrop of firefighters and offered his prescription for solving the persistent jobs crisis: "A fair shot for everybody; a fair share from everybody. That's the principle that built America."
The president got a polite reception from the 100 or so people crowded into the station garage. Early in his speech he mentioned his American Jobs Act.
One or two people clapped.
"You can go ahead and clap," the president said. "Go ahead, nothing wrong with it."
What an embarrassment. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2011/10/obamas_bus_tour_a_flat_failure.html
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Fox News reports: The United States, the Islamic Republic of Iran and a few other countries are finding themselves in the hot seat at the United Nations, as U.N. human rights officials known as special rapporteurs submit reports to the General Assembly over the next couple of weeks on topics ranging from freedom of religion to counter-terrorism.
There is a serious problem of moral relativism at the U.N.,” says Anne Bayefsky, a Senior Editor of the Hudson Institute and Editor of Eye on the U.N., a Web site that tracks questionable U.N. activities. “Most of the rapporteurs take their work seriously, but some cast the U.S., Canada and European countries as the worst of the worst rights abusers
