Rep. Allen West, on Obama; Senate's Boondoggle in China; Oregon, and DeFazio's Revenge; EPA "Rogue Agency"

The Blaze reports: Recently, Rep. Allen West (R-FL) decried Obama’s “third world dictator-like arrogance.” That raised some eyebrows. So last night, Fox’s Greta Van Susteren, who was a little uncomfortable with the remarks, gave West a chance to walk them back.  [He said:]
I am sick and tired of this class warfare, this Marxist, demagogic rhetoric that is coming from the President of the United States of America. It is not helpful for this country and it’s not going to move the ball forward as far as rectifying the economic situation in our country. And I’m not going to back away from telling what the truth is.
[...]
There’s a great depth to my conviction, and part of my conviction is telling the truth. I don‘t think it’s very presidential when Barack Hussein Obama refers to my colleague, Paul Ryan, as a simple little accountant, either. So I think that when you look at what a community organizer is turning out to be, it does seem to be like a low-level socialist agitator.  http://www.theblaze.com/stories/allen-west-reiterates-obama-dictator-remarks-low-level-socialist-agitator/

The Washington Post reports: Details are slowly trickling out about Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s secret, week-long trip to China with nine other senators. The lawmakers have given out minimal information about their itinerary because of supposed “security concerns.”
Last checked in, the intrepid congressional delegation (or codel) had paused in Hong Kong over the weekend, likely morphing into a shopping delegation (or shopdel).
The next afternoon, to meet their stated goal of doing “site visits of American investments” in China, they took a ferry to . . . wait for it, wait for it . . . Macau, a tiny former Portuguese enclave where major Reid backer and Las Vegas gambling impresario Steve Wynn and other American casino operators have invested big-time — and profited enormously. That’s why the group would have tried to blend in with other tourists — not an easy thing for 10 senators, 10 spouses, five staff members and assorted foreign service officers.  [If it is so dangerous, why are all the wives also there?] http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/harry-reids-high-stakes-china-gamble/2011/04/21/AFGH8cKE_story.html?hpid=z2

Townhall reports on a problem at Oregon State University: Dr. Robinson is perhaps best known for the Oregon Petition Project, which states that “there is no convincing scientific evidence” that humans are causing “catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere” or disruption of its climate. It urges Congress to reject the 1997 Kyoto global warming agreement – and has been signed by more than 32,000 Americans with university degrees in physical sciences (including yours truly and over 9,000 PhDs).
Dr. Robinson decided to run for Congress.  He challenged DeFazio, who initially figured he would have a cakewalk against this political neophyte. With polls showing his lead narrowing, an increasingly desperate DeFazio struck back.
Bristling with a sense of entitlement, the congressman ran print, television and radio ads, painting Robinson as a nutcase who would promote racism, put radioactive wastes in drinking water, end Social Security and Medicare, close schools, repeal taxation of oil companies and destroy Oregon jobs. With help from Rachel Madow and MSNBC, DeFazio claimed Robinson lived off Social Security in a survivalist compound and was funding his campaign with cash from money launderers and drug dealers.
Despite the libelous attacks, Robinson garnered a very respectable 44% of the vote – and promptly announced that he would run for DeFazio’s seat again in 2012.
Even though they have been working on their PhDs for almost five years at OSU, and have about a year to go, Joshua has been forbidden access to the equipment he built for his PhD work, and Bethany has been told she will be dismissed from school. Matthew, who turned down a nearly “full ride” from MIT to go to OSU, has been there for two years – but now is waiting for the ax to fall on his work and his thesis professor, Dr. Jack Higginbotham, who came to the students’ defense.
Oregon State is a prime example of what happens when educational institutions fall under progressive-socialist control, and dependency on taxpayer handouts from political overseers in Washington. DeFazio and his fellow congressional Democrats gave OSU a reported $27 million in earmark funding during the last legislative cycle alone. That’s $9 million per Robinson student denied a PhD.
In depressing testimony to how far America has strayed from its Constitution and founding principles, we have reached the point where congressmen can lavish key supporters with tax dollars – and in return get votes, campaign contributions, rallies and volunteers on our campuses … and be assured of vicious retribution against the families of anyone rash enough to run against them.  http://townhall.com/columnists/pauldriessen/2011/04/23/political_payback_%E2%80%93_oregon_style/page/full/

The Washington Examiner wrote: In the House, 19 Democrats joined the Republican majority in a decisive 255-172 vote to defund the EPA's attempt to circumvent Congress and begin its own cap-and-trade program. The reason the outlook is so grim for the EPA on this issue is the fact that a growing number of congressional Democrats have had enough of being threatened by executive branch political appointees.
Shortly after the House vote last week, Rep. Dennis Cardoza, D-Calif. -- who opposed the Upton measure -- told Politico that a growing number of his Democratic colleagues were beginning to view the EPA as a "rogue agency." He added, "I think the president's out of step on this one, and he's going to have to get his agency under control."

Redstate opines: Why are companies leaving the Golden State? As you might expect, California’s out-of-control spending, high taxes, and burdensome regulations figure among the top 10 reasons. Vranich, however, recently added high energy costs to the list:
The #10 Reason (New!) – Unprecedented Energy Costs: The California Manufacturers and Technology Association states that commercial electrical rates here already are 50% higher than in the rest of the country. However, a law enacted in April 12, 2011 requires utilities to get one-third of their power from renewable sources (e.g., solar panels, windmills) within nine years. Look for costs to increase by another 19% in many places to a whopping 74% in Los Angeles. Such new burdens along with upcoming regulations stemming from the “California Global Warming Solutions Act” set potentially overwhelming obstacles to companies here as they try to meet competition based in other states and in foreign nations.  http://www.redstate.com/laborunionreport/2011/04/20/afscme-boss-explains-californias-suicidal-tendencies/

Google reports on NJ's Cap and Trade Law: When the original legislation paving the way for New Jersey’s entry into RGGI was passed in 2008, it was done so on a bi-partisan basis. Likewise, dismantling RGGI will require support from members of both political parties.
By joining the movement to repeal RGGI, Senator Sarlo became the first Democrat to back the effort to kill this Cap & Trade tax and opened the door for more of his Democrat colleagues in the Legislature to do the same.  When presented with the indisputable facts about the RGGI scheme -- including its lack of transparency, exploitation by “insiders” looking to speculate and profit on the backs of ratepayers, as well as the devastating consequences for New Jersey’s economy and jobs -- the senator made the call to stand up for New Jersey’s economic future. https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#inbox/12f77a902be0c8c6

Fox Business writes: Drug industry sources tell FOX Business the Administration is backtracking on what is called the “PhRMA deal” in health reform, a deal that was struck behind closed doors in late 2009 and early 2010 in order to get the industry to support and endorse health-care reform.
President Barack Obama "has blown the deal to smithereens," says William S. Smith, managing director of Healthcare National Strategies, a D.C.-based government affairs consulting firm. “The Obama Administration has repudiated the PhRMA deal,” says Smith, a former vice president for US public affairs and policy at Pfizer (PFE).
The drug industry is also saying the White House’s backtracking could actually hurt advances in the drug industry, where it says better drugs curtail the need for hospitalizations and reduce health-care costs.

Natural News opines: Within the past several months, numerous towns in Maine, and one in Vermont, have proposed or enacted food sovereignty laws that declare, plainly, that the federal government has no business telling citizens what food products they can and cannot buy or sell locally. Representing the third town to successfully pass such an ordinance, Blue Hill, Maine, recently adopted a local food and self-governance bill that asserts the freedom of local citizens to choose their own food.

Trevor Loudon reports: a Los Angeles teacher and member of the International Socialist Organization organized a panel at Democratic Socialists of Americas Left Forum 2011 in New York in March, “Capitalism and Education: A Marxist discourse on what we’re fighting against and what we’re fighting for”, which discussed how best to indoctrinate children in the classroom.  [This was captured on video by EAG TV - linked to below.]
Barack Obama used to attend these events (then known as the Socialist Scholars Conference), when he lived in New York in the early 1980s. The Washington Examiner reports: Lafe Solomon, who was appointed to the board by Obama, filed a complaint on behalf of the Nat'l Labor Relations Board on Wednesday seeking to force the Boeing Co. to build an assembly line in Washington state instead of South Carolina. The NLRB action stems from Boeing's October 2009 decision to build a new factory for its new 787 Dreamliner airplane near Charleston, S.C. Boeing first sought to build the new plant near its existing facility in Puget Sound, but negotiations with the International Association of Machinists broke down when the union refused to agree to a long-term no-strike clause. The IAM had struck four times since 1989, costing Boeing at least $1.8 billion in revenue.
That's when Boeing chose South Carolina, a right-to-work state where, unlike Washington, workers are not forced to join unions. As a result of this policy, only 6.2 percent of South Carolinians belong to unions. After suffering major defeats in Wisconsin and Ohio, the labor movement is looking for a scalp. Obama's NLRB is trying to turn Boeing into one.
The NLRB is hanging its case on a senior Boeing official's statement to the Seattle Times that "The overriding factor [in transferring the line] ... was that we cannot afford to have a work stoppage, you know, every three years." The NLRB absurdly claims this is "unlawful employer speech" that infringes on "a worker's fundamental" right to strike. But the Supreme Court has long held that firms may consider the economic effect of strikes when making business decisions.A ruling in favor of Obama's NLRB would make it presumptively illegal for any unionized firm to invest in a right-to-work state.
Why would any domestic company choose to build a factory in a forced-union state if it knew that meant it could never expand to a right-to-work state? Why would any international firm invest anywhere in this country if it knew the White House would favor political allies?

Having reconnected through FB with a friend from my high school days, I learned that Gene Church is an author, having written '80629' A Mengele Experiment, among other books.  Gene wrote this book about one man's experiences in a concentration camp, in 1986.  The first time I ever found any interest in history was when I read Leon Uris' Armageddon and Mila 18.  It changed my life by putting me there in the historic scenes surrounding Adolph Hitler and his Holocaust, and the unspeakable torture of the Jews.   Gene's book is extremely well written, a much shorter version of a part of history which none of us truly learned in school.  It should be required reading for high school and college students.  I warn you, since it is written in great detail,  it is difficult and painful to read.  You can find it through your library, or online.  It contains lessons we must never forget - about giving up our liberties to a government power......

The Michigan State Police have a high-tech mobile forensics device that can be used to extract information from cell phones belonging to motorists stopped for minor traffic violations. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Michigan last Wednesday demanded that state officials stop stonewalling freedom of information requests for information on the program.

ACLU learned that the police had acquired the cell phone scanning devices.
“Law enforcement officers are known, on occasion, to encourage citizens to cooperate if they have nothing to hide,” ACLU staff attorney Mark P. Fancher wrote
A US Department of Justice test of the CelleBrite UFED used by Michigan police found the device could grab all of the photos and video off of an iPhone within one-and-a-half minutes. The device works with 3000 different phone models and can even defeat password protections.
“Complete extraction of existing, hidden, and deleted phone data, including call history, text messages, contacts, images, and geotags,” a CelleBrite brochure explains regarding the device’s capabilities. “The Physical Analyzer allows visualization of both existing and deleted locations on Google Earth. In addition, location information from GPS devices and image geotags can be mapped on Google Maps.”  [I WILL NOT GIVE MY CELL PHONE WITHOUT A SEARCH WARRANT, AND I HAVE NOTHING STORED THERE - NO CONTACT LISTS, TWEETS, PHOTOS - NOTHING!!! - see reference above to the Jews who gave in an inch at a time, losing all their freedoms and sense of self.]  http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2011/04/michigan-police-search-cell-phones-during-traffic-stops/

The UK Guardian reports: Security researchers have discovered that Apple's iPhone keeps track of where you go – and saves every detail of it to a secret file on the device which is then copied to the owner's computer when the two are synchronised.
The file contains the latitude and longitude of the phone's recorded coordinates along with a timestamp, meaning that anyone who stole the phone or the computer could discover details about the owner's movements using a simple program.
For some phones, there could be almost a year's worth of data stored, as the recording of data seems to have started with Apple's iOS 4 update to the phone's operating system, released in June 2010.
"Apple has made it possible for almost anybody – a jealous spouse, a private detective – with access to your phone or computer to get detailed information about where you've been," said Pete Warden, one of the researchers. http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2011/apr/20/iphone-tracking-prompts-privacy-fears

The Michigan Education Association writes:  GOP leaders aim to toughen teacher strike penalties
A proposal supposedly intended to deter teachers from illegally striking would now strip them of their ability to teach for two years - or for life - and would kick out the employee's union for five years.
The penalties would apply even if no strike actually occurred, so long as it was determined that a strike was in the planning stages. The legislation states that neither a union member nor a union could "solicit or encourage any other person to strike" or "conspire with any other person to cause a strike."
The House Education Committee took testimony today on House Bills 4465 and 4466. A vote could come as early next week. MEA vigorously opposes these bills that seek to further silence the voices of school employees.

Creeping Sharia reports: Muslim Brotherhood-founded student group whitewashes sharia at OSU

“There is such ignorance that many people have no clue what Islam is,” Nana said. “When the sponsors of the bills were asked what Sharia is, they had no answer,” said Mufti of the anti-Sharia laws that have been introduced in some states.
Nana explained Sharia as not just Islamic law, but a code of life for all Muslims.
Nana also spoke of the similarities between the American legal system and Islam.
Our legal system here in America has strong links and owes a lot to Islam,” Nana said.
Nana said the jury system and the concepts of reasonable doubt and legal representation were all borrowed from Islam.
Michael Calvert, a third-year in international studies, came to hear Nana discuss Sharia because he thinks it is an interesting topic in the world today.
“I had no idea that the Western law system is based so much on Sharia,” Calvert said. “There are a lot more similarities than people realize.”
In truth:
Sharia judicial proceedings have significant differences with other legal traditions, including those in both common law and civil law. Sharia courts traditionally do not rely on lawyers; plaintiffs and defendants represent themselves. Trials are conducted solely by the judge, and there is no jury system (like civil law in countries such as Russia and France). There is no pre-trial discovery process, and no cross-examination of witnesses. Unlike common law, judges’ verdicts do not set binding precedents[102][103][104] under the principle of stare decisis[105] and unlike civil law, Sharia does not utilize formally codified statutes[106] (these were first introduced only in the late 19th century during the decline of the Ottoman Empire, cf. mecelle). Instead of precedents and codes, Sharia relies on jurist’s manuals and collections of non-binding legal opinions, or hadith, (ulama, particularly a mufti); these can be made binding for a particular case at the discretion of a judge. http://creepingsharia.wordpress.com/2011/04/18/muslim-brotherhood-founded-student-group-whitewashes-sharia-at-osu/

The CEO of IBM offered the Obama administration a free software program that would have cut Medicare and Medicaid fraud by almost a trillion dollars, but he was turned down – twice.
"We could have improved the quality and reduced the cost of the healthcare system by $900 billion...I said we would do it for free to prove that it works. They turned us down, "IBM chairman and CEO  Samuel Palmisano said during a Sept. 14, 2010 taping of the Wall Street Journal’s Viewpoints program.
FOX News confirmed that a second meeting between Palmisano and Obama administration officials yielded the same result: "No thanks!" – even though the proffered "fix" would have eliminated 90 percent of the nation’s health care deficit – and cost taxpayers nothing it didn’t perform as guaranteed.

Ruth Johnson, Michigan's new Secretary of State said the following when speaking of her first 100 days in office:  "According to a 2008 report by the nonpartisan Pew Center on the states, Michigan had an impossible 102.54 percent of eligible voters registered to vote in this state. We have been working diligently to clean our voter rolls and change the laws to keep them that way. We're also working to ensure that all of our votes are able to be recounted and that election workers are well-trained through a new comprehensive training program. Finally, I announced an upcoming legislative package that will put more teeth into our election laws to go after those who violate our campaign finance requirements. Candidates who don't follow the rules and fake political parties will not be tolerated!"

Google writes: A report that the US government plans to sell off much of its remaining stake in General Motors this year despite the firm's lackluster share price caused investors to flee the stock Tuesday. After the Wall Street Journal reported a government sale could come within the next six months, GM's shares fell by nearly 1.3 percent to end at $29.59.
The government sale would "almost certainly" mean that US taxpayers would take a loss from a politically controversial $50 billion rescue of the auto giant in 2009, according to the paper.
The government would need to sell its roughly 500 million shares for $53 dollars each in order to break even, but GM's stock is currently hovering at a price of just under $30 per share.
At the current price, the government would lose more than $11 billion, but the Obama administration is willing to accept the loss in order to cut its last ties to the auto manufacturer, the newspaper said, citing unnamed sources.  [During his election campaign, I'm sure Obama does not want us to be able to say anything about Obama Motors, which has been touted as not being a money loser at all.....]  http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5iQ772RYgyZRuijNjN58Syvf8HExw?docId=CNG.862196b5b90a6d3e5734cc272997d1cd.a51

Dick Morris writes: Piously posturing as the savior of Medicare, President Obama lashed out at the House Republicans for embracing the budget proposed by Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.). But a comparison of the president’s own plans for Medicare with those in the Ryan budget shows that the Democratic cuts are far more immediate and drastic than anything in the GOP proposal.
While the Republican Medicare changes only take effect in 2021, Obama’s cuts will begin hurting seniors right away. The president’s healthcare legislation imposed a hard spending cap on Medicare
— the first time it has ever had one — which he has just proposed lowering by another one-half of 1 percent of GDP (a further cut of about $70 billion a year).
Obama’s cuts, which will take effect immediately, are to be administered by his newly created Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) of 15 members appointed by the president. Its recommendations for cuts in Medicare services or for reductions in reimbursement will not be subject to congressional approval but will take effect by administrative fiat. Right now.The IPAB will be, essentially, the rationing board that will decide who gets what care. http://thehill.com/opinion/columnists/dick-morris/156879-obamas-medicare-hypocrisy

AFL-CIO Response to Obama Budget Posted on White House Website; Fiat Given 5% More Ownership of Chrysler; Inflation Way Up; Al-Jazeera Hosts Hillary; Baltimore May Vote on Discounted College Tuition for Illegals; AZ Governor Vetos Birther Bill; Supremes Will Revisit Obamacare This Friday; New Black Panthers "National Day of Action" This Saturday; AFSCME Union In Michigan Threatens to "Weaponize" by Shutting Services Down

Obama’s people did something rather unusual: They released press releases regarding the President’s budget deal with the GOP on the White House website by both AFL-CIO boss Richard Trumka, as well as AFSCME boss Gerald McEntee. While McEntee’s press release was praising of Obama’s gimmicky budgetary “framework,” Trumka’s was a full-blown partisan attack on Republican lawmakers. Again, this was posted on the White House’s websitehttp://www.redstate.com/laborunionreport/2011/04/18/too-late-to-ask-for-a-refund-obama-has-union-bosses-other-lefty-loons-feeling-double-crossed/

National Review reports: Fiat just earned 5 percent more ownership in Chrysler for creating a product no one has bought yet. Payment for non-performance. If you suspect this is government’s benchmark for success, you’d be right. More precisely, this is how the Obama administration measures success.
Let’s rewind the tape. Under King Obama’s gift of 20 percent of Chrysler to Fiat in 2009, His Highness decreed that Fiat would assume another 5 percent of the company upon production of a 4-cylinder engine in the United States. Not selling it. Simply producing it.
Why? Because Obama has decreed, against all evidence, that America wants small, fuel-efficient engines. Build them and they will come.
“Fiat’s initial 20 percent share of Chrysler rose to 25 percent in January, when it met the first government benchmark: production of a fuel-efficient, four-cylinder engine at its Dundee (Michigan) plant,” reports the Detroit News. Fiat could have built anything under this condition — a windmill-powered engine — since it only had to pleasure the king.  http://www.nationalreview.com/planet-gore/264684/obamas-stupid-car-tricks-henry-payne

Floyd Reports: Over the last six months, crude oil, corn and cotton rose a visibly immodest 35 percent, 38 percent and 89 percent, respectively. A recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report confirms what our flattened wallets already told us: food and energy prices are on the rise. According to the report, food prices in March made the biggest gain since 1974 - with a 3.9 percent increase. In February, energy prices rose 3.3 percent and gasoline, 3.7 percent.

To be fair, Bernanke is technically correct to say that we do not have an inflation problem – because, due to their pricing volatility, the Federal Reserve does not include food and gasoline prices purchased by consumers in its calculation. But Americans aren’t much interested in federal government technicalities these days. They are instead focused on the newfound art of stretching those “non-inflated” dollars to provide for their families. http://floydreports.com/produce-aisle-sticker-shock-in-obamas-america/?utm_source=Expose+Obama&utm_campaign=a72893b895-EO_04_18_20114_18_2011&utm_medium=email

Expose Obama writes: Seven years after then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld called the broadcaster’s reporting “vicious, inaccurate and inexcusable” and President George W. Bush joked about bombing it, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton praised it as “real news” in her recent Senate testimony.
Not only that, her staffers, as well as those of the CIA and the Obama White House, were attending the Congressional Correspondents’ Dinner as Al-Jazeera’s guests.
“They are a really important media entity, and we have a really great relationship with them,” said Dana Shell Smith, the State Department’s deputy assistant secretary for international media engagement, who speaks Arabic and has frequently appeared on the channel. “This administration has empowered those of us who actually do the communicating to be in a close relationship with Al-Jazeera. They understand that the relationship can’t consist of complaining to each other about the differences we have.”  http://www.exposeobama.com/2011/04/18/obama-appointees-are-al-jazeeras-best-pals-outside-al-qaeda/?utm_source=Expose+Obama&utm_campaign=a72893b895-EO_04_18_20114_18_2011&utm_medium=email

Baltimore Sun reports: Gov. Martin O'Malley has not yet signed the state's new rule that gives discounted college tuition to illegal immigrants -- but it is already facing a pair of challenges.

Freshman Delegate Neil Parrott, one of the few Maryland elected officials who rode the tea party wave to victory last fall, is organizing an effort to petition the measure to referendum. If his efforts are successful, the bill would appear on the 2012 ballot and tuition breaks would be postponed until the voters determine whether the law should be put on the books.

American Spectator reports: The United States Supreme Court Justices met last Friday to discuss whether or not to grant Virginia's request to expedite our healthcare case directly to the Supreme Court - thereby bypassing the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Virginia, along with many other states and companies, has been left with great uncertainty regarding the healthcare bill. Virginia alone is spending millions of dollars preparing to implement the bill - despite the fact that if Virginia's legal challenge succeeds, the bill may well be stricken before it is ever fully implemented.
The Supreme Court did not make an announcement today on whether or not it was going to expedite the case. Instead, they relisted the case on their docket for this Friday, April 22ndhttp://spectator.org/blog/2011/04/18/the-supreme-court-and-cuccinel

Daily Caller writes: The New Black Panther Party – an organization known largely for their intimidation of voters outside a Philadelphia precinct- has announced plans for a “National Day of Action and Unity,” – ironically urging followers (on their day of unity) to boycott all “non-black business” on April 23. The New Black Panthers plan to protest non-black establishments and entities via “rallies, marches, demonstrations, programs, and confrontations” in over 60 cities. “Because blacks worldwide are dissatisfied at their current condition,” the Panther’s announcement explains. http://dailycaller.com/2011/04/19/new-black-panthers-to-protest-non-blacks/

Big Government reports: It’s becoming clearer that the “public service” mentality is quickly slipping way from government employees, if it didn’t hit the exits a long time ago.
Instead of government employees serving the public, it’s clear now their belief is that the public exists to serve them.  And if the public doesn’t step up, there will be hell to pay.
Why else would a government union president threaten to “weaponize” the jobs of his members?  At the latest union protest in Lansing, Michigan, AFSCME president Herb Sanders explained to the Lansing State Journal:
If necessary, we will use the valuable public service jobs that we perform as a weapon and shut this state down.
There needs to be a real, straightforward way to deal with such behavior.  One of the signs that I laughed at most in Madison was “I am irreplaceable.”
No, you’re not.  Everyone is replaceable.  Everyone can become a liability when their perceived value outweighs reality.

The fact is, Herb Sanders’ members are very replaceable and the state of Michigan, and every other state with a union-held gun to its head, should have ways to replace them – quickly.  http://biggovernment.com/kolson/2011/04/18/afscme-union-threatens-to-weaponize-government-jobs/

Uncontrolled Immigration To Stop in Britain; Cyber-Identity Password; Don't Complain Too Much at Airports; Georgia Passes AZ-style Immigration Law; CBS Doctoring Tea Party Video?; Obama's Meanness; TSA Excessive Powers to Be Curbed by 11 States?

The UK Telegraph reports: The Prime Minister will today claim that uncontrolled immigration has undermined some British communities. Pledging to cut the numbers entering Britain to tens of thousands, rather than hundreds of thousands, Mr Cameron will say that "for too long, immigration has been too high".[Snip]But Mr Cable, a Liberal Democrat, described the speech as “very unwise” and suggested it could fuel extremism over immigration. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/immigration/8450083/Vince-Cable-David-Camerons-immigration-claims-risk-inflaming-extremism.html

Fox News reports: The Commerce Dept. unveiled a plan Friday to create a national cyber-identity system that would give consumers who opt in a single secure password and identity for all their digital transactions.
The National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC) will be a voluntary system designed to protect consumers from online fraud and identity theft -- which hit 8.1 million people last year, at a total cost of $27 billion. The problem: The current system of half-remembered passwords jotted down on post-it notes and based on pets and maiden names simply isn't good enough.  The "identity ecosystem" will create secure online IDs for Americans who elect to join the program, giving them a single credential -- such as a unique piece of software on a smart phone, a smart card, or a token that generates a one-time digital password -- which they can use to log on to a variety of websites.  [I am sure I will not participate.] http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/04/15/obama-administration-unveils-internet-id-plan/?cmpid=cmty_email_Gigya_Obama_Administration_Unveils_Internet_ID_Plan

CNN writes:  Don't like the way airport screeners are doing their job? You might not want to complain too much while standing in line.
Arrogant complaining about airport security is one indicator Transportation Security Administration officers consider when looking for possible criminals and terrorists, CNN has learned exclusively. And, when combined with other behavioral indicators, it could result in a traveler facing additional scrutiny.
CNN has obtained a list of roughly 70 "behavioral indicators" that TSA behavior detection officers use to identify potentially "high risk" passengers at the nation's airports.  [And yet recent reports show the TSA is failing to stop true threats to airline safety, allowing knives and guns onto our planes at times.]
"Expressing your contempt about airport procedures -- that's a First Amendment-protected right," said Michael German, a former FBI agent who now works as legal counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union. "We all have the right to express our views, and particularly in a situation where the government is demanding the ability to search you."
"It's circular reasoning where, you know, I'm going to ask someone to surrender their rights; if they refuse, that's evidence that I need to take their rights away from them. And it's simply inappropriate," he said.

Big Journalism catches CBS doctoring news video?: Why would someone come to a [Tea Party] rally on April 16th with a sign for an election that has already been held (and lost by the libs)? Because the footage isn’t from today…it’s from earlier this year. The man in the screencap above holds a sign to encourage voters to vote Klopenburg (who lost to Prosser in a “this is what democracy looks like” election). It was couched between footage of Palin’s Saturday afternoon speech and presented as footage taken from the same day.
CBS ironically says that the tea party is one of the “most polarizing and powerful political force in decades” despite reporting on the union protests during the first half of this piece. Because SEIU or the AFL-CIO with their bosses’ documented weekly visits to visit the Obama White House, their campaign stumping for him, their Democrat donations, and the bully tactics they employ aren’t polarizing at all.  http://bigjournalism.com/pjsalvatore/2011/04/16/did-cbs-falsify-rally-footage-to-favor-union-protesters/

The Washington Examiner writes on Obama's meanness, when he invited Paul Ryan to his budget speech: What Obama instead delivered, with Ryan sitting in the front row, was, in the Wall Street Journal's unsparing description, a "poison pen" speech dripping with mean-spirited partisanship, gross misrepresentations of fact, and sophistry of the lowest sort concerning Republicans' alleged desire to hurt old people, the poor and mentally challenged children. It was the sort of harangue one would expect from a rabidly devoted partisan hack, with no relation whatever to the thoughtful appeals to reason and common values that historically have characterized presidential leadership in this country.
Obama then spent Thursday evening regaling an audience of Democratic donors with what he thought were off-the-record insider jabs about his recent budget negotiations with House Republicans, including this cheap shot at Ryan: "When Paul Ryan says his priority is to make sure he's just being America's accountant, that he's being responsible, I mean this is the same guy that voted for two wars that were unpaid for, voted for the Bush tax cuts that were unpaid for, voted for the prescription drug bill that cost as much as my health care bill -- but wasn't paid for. So it's not on the level." The reality is that the Iraq and Afghanistan wars under President Bush were regularly funded by Congress, claiming tax cuts must be "paid for" is a hoary piece of Democratic class-warfare demagoguery, and the prescription drug plan Ryan supported cost half as much as the Democratic alternative then on the table. Such fact-free commentary is to be expected from blind partisans, but not the president of the United States.
Odds are we will see more of this meaner side of the Obama persona in the months ahead because, as columnist and former GOP presidential aide Pete Wehner notes, "now that he finds himself intellectually outmatched by Paul Ryan
Decency and respect for others has suddenly become passe. Talking about our disagreements without being disagreeable has been overtaken by events. Not impugning the character of the opposition is fine as long as it's convenient, but it's to be ignored whenever necessary." In other words, we're now seeing the real Obama in what promises to be an ugly campaign.

Hawaii Reporter reports: Believing that the federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has gone too far in an assault on individual and states rights, a new, national, bipartisan legislative caucus is emerging to take action.Primary organizers are Alaska State Representative Sharon Cissna and Washington State Senator Val Stevens. Republican and Democrat legislators from Alaska, Hawaii, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington have pledged to work together for common goals to oppose what is perceived as an ever growing threat to liberty by the TSA. Additional state legislative participation is anticipated.
Each of the lawmakers involved to date has introduced legislation in their state to curb what they, and their state’s citizens, believe to be  excessive power by the TSA. http://www.hawaiireporter.com/hawaii-other-states-form-caucus-to-oppose-tsa-intrusions/123

The Reasons Why Obama Might Be Impeached

  • From Life and Liberty Pac: the reasons why Obama might be impeached, with my additions in blue:
  •
  • Obama attacks Libya without consulting Congress – Obama Administration surrenders sovereign US war-making to foreign powers and international authorities
  • ObamaCare ruled unconstitutional and ordered to halt by Federal Court [declared Null and Void] Obama Administration states it will implement regardless of Federal Courts - and stalls in having the Supreme Court hear the case

  • Congress determines Cap & Trade unconstitutional and refuses to pass –Obama Administration orders EPA to enact provisions regardless of Congress

  • Oil Drilling Moratorium declared unconstitutional, ban lifted by Federal Court , declaring Obama to be in contempt of court Obama Administration continues to prevent drilling regardless of Federal Courts

  • Defense of Marriage Act overwhelmingly passed by the 104th Congress and signed into law by former President Bill Clinton Obama Administration announces unilaterally its Department of Justice it will no longer enforce the law

  • Arizona SB 1070 Immigration Enforcement Act overwhelmingly passed by AZ Legislature - and now by other states as well Obama Justice Department brings [possible]unconstitutional lawsuit against Arizona state

  • LTC Terrance Lakin, US Army seeks confirmation of lawful orders from CinC, is court martialed, sentenced to Leavenworth Prison – Obama and DOJ stonewall all proof of presidential eligibility under U.S. Constitution , because lower courts declare he is the wrong entity to bring the suit.
  • We can now add his recent declaration that he will not implement part of the budget bill he just signed into law:  One rider – Section 2262 — de-funds certain White House adviser positions – or “czars.” The president then issued a signing statement declaring that he will not abide by it.
  •
  • "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
