"Occupy" coming to your town; The history of Bill Ayers, friend of Obama, What do occupiers want?; It is important to know just who occupies Wall St.; MSNBC seeks Kent State moment!

[Please keep in mind that the following is from the same Bill Ayers of which the following is written on Biography.com:]
1)During his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, Ayers became involved with the Students for a Democratic Society(SDS) and the movement to end the war in Vietnam.  [U/M must be so proud....]
2)He and several others founded the Weather Underground [a more violent SDS], believing the anti-war movement needed to use violence, if necessary, to achieve its goals.
3)Later that year, the group took responsibility for bombing several police cars in Chicago in retaliation for the killing of Mark Clark and Fred Hampton of the Black Panther Party by the police.
4)By early 1970, many members of the group were in hiding, including Ayers. The organization was rocked by tragedy in March of that year when three members—Theodore Gold, Terry Robbins, and Ayers’ girlfriend Diana Oughton—were killed while making bombs in New York City.. Ayers participated in the 1971 bombing of the Capitol building and the 1972 bombing of the Pentagon, according to his 2001 book Fugitive Days: A Memoir.
5)Federal charges against Ayers and Dohrn were dismissed because of “improper surveillance,” according to an article in the Chicago Sun-Times
And he now writes:  Bill Ayers Wordpress posted the following, the first official, collective statement of the protesters in Zuccotti Park:  http://occupywallst.org/forum/first-official-release-from-occupy-wall-street/
As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.
As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known.
1)They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.
2)They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses.
3)They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of one’s skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.
4)They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization.
5)They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless animals, and actively hide these practices.
6)They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions.
7)They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.
8)They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay.
9)They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.
10)They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.
11)They have sold our privacy as a commodity.
12)They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press.
13)They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit.
14)They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.
15)They have donated large sums of money to politicians, who are responsible for regulating them.
16)They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.
17)They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives or provide relief in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantial profit.
18)They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit.
19)They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.
20)They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt.
21)They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad.
22)They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.
23)They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government ontracts.*
To the people of the world, We, the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square, urge you to assert your power.
Exercise your right to peaceably assemble; occupy public space; create a process to address the problems we face, and generate solutions accessible to everyone.
To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy, we offer support, documentation, and all of the resources at our disposal.
Join us and make your voices heard!  /http://billayers.wordpress.com/2011/10/05/occupy-wall-street-collective-statement-of-the-protesters/

[In random interviews by GBTV, the protesters said the following:
1) I'm against my boss telling me how to do my job; a priest telling me how to worship God; a politician telling me what the laws are
2) I am against steel structures, corporations and capitalism
3) Debt and banks should be abolished
4)  I am for communism, anarchy, and primitivism
5) I am against rich fat cats paying far less in taxes than a poor person
6) I can't define the words credit and don't know what a stock is
7) 34% said Al Quaeda is no more dangerous than is capitalism.
OK - these really are useful idiots - useful to unions, anarchists, and anti-capitalists and their agenda.

Real Clear Politics reports: Donny Deutsch discusses the Occupy Wall Street movement on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
"Obviously everybody is saying, they need to kind of clarify, they need policy issues -- 'this is what we want' as opposed to.... The other thing it needs, and I don't want this to come out the wrong way. If we think -- not needs but will happen -- if you think back to the late '60s, what is the most stirring image of all of the rebellion that happened. What do we remember? Kent State. Now, I'm not saying somebody has to get killed. What will happen, there will be a climax moment of class warfare somehow played out on screen that I think will -- the same way '9-9-9', if you will, kind of simplifies a message -- that articulates this clash. So, both the real clarification in terms of policy and unfortunately some imagery says to America, and I think those are the two things..."  http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/10/14/donny_deutsch_occupy_wall_street_needs_a_kent_state_moment.html

For those too young to remember: According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_State_shootingsThe Kent State shootings—also known as the May 4 massacre or, frequently, the Kent State massacre[2][3][4]—occurred at Kent State University in the city of Kent, Ohio, and involved the shooting of unarmed college students by members of the Ohio National Guard on Monday, May 4, 1970. The guardsmen fired 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds, killing four students and wounding nine others, one of whom suffered permanent paralysis.[5]
Some of the students who were shot had been protesting against the American invasion of Cambodia, which President Richard Nixon announced in a television address on April 30. Other students who were shot had been walking nearby or observing the protest from a distance.[6][7]
There was a significant national response to the shootings: hundreds of universities, colleges, and high schools closed throughout the United States due to a student strike of four million students.

None of this matters to Republicans; Republicans offer another plan; Solyndra funder reports little of his income to IRS; Obama draws sparse crowd; No confirmation til they hear from Obama; "Jobs Supported" by Obama; When do occupiers head to White House?; Occupy Boston assaults Coast Guard woman; Voter Fraud in Texas likely; Zuccotti Park owned by Obama Energy Stimulus Recipient; Muslims asked to support Occupy Wall St.; UN pushes for sexual freedom for 12 year olds, US inching there in CA

Real Clear Politics writes: At a forum on American Latino Heritage, President Obama goes through a litany of ideas that he is for, including his new stimulus, and ends with "none of this matters to Republicans in the Senate." One of those ideas is believing America is "a place where every child, no matter what they look like, where they come from, should have a chance to succeed."
. No other jobs plan has that kind of support from actual economists -- no plan from Congress, no plan from anybody.

But apparently, none of this matters to Republicans in the Senate.  [Good for you, Mr. President.  You have found one more way to promote hatred and divisiveness.  Since it is clear that the Republican House has passed several bills on jobs, each one being denied by the Senate, it becomes clear to what lengths our President will go to promote the Big Lie.]  http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/10/13/obama_republicans_dont_want_a_place_where_people_no_matter_what_they_look_like_can_

[OOPS!  I'm sure Mr. President will correct what he said in last post, and he'll do it very soon..] The AP reports:  Senate Republicans introduced legislation Thursday aimed at creating jobs by overhauling the nation's tax laws, cutting business rules and boosting offshore oil exploration.
The GOP bill is called the "Jobs Through Growth Act" and doesn't include a single item in President Barack Obama's jobs legislation, which Senate Republicans killed in a Tuesday night vote.
"They believe that government and spending creates jobs," said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. "We believe business and growth creates jobs."
The GOP plan calls for repealing Obama's health care law and passing a constitutional amendment requiring a balanced budget.  http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_GOP_JOBS?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2011-10-13-15-14-30

Washington Examiner opines: But the Solyndra scandal is far from Kaiser's first brush with political controversy. As the Sunlight Foundation's Bill Allison reports today, Kaiser [a major Solyndra funder] has become extraordinarily wealthy by taking advantage of the federal tax code in ways that some tax experts - including the IRS - believe to be illegal.
As Allison describes it in his Sunlight post today, "in one six year period, during which he increased his net worth enough to land him on the Forbes list of the 400 wealthiest Americans, Kaiser reported taxable income to the Internal Revenue Service just once, totaling $11,699--equivalent to a full-time hourly wage of $5.62."
During the 1980s bust in the oil industry in Oklahoma and Texas, Kaiser bought up struggling energy companies whose losses provided him with tax deductions that effectively hid his own income. http://campaign2012.washingtonexaminer.com/article/solyndra-funder-kaiser-paid-zero-taxes-years

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports: An Allegheny County labor leader said on Wednesday he's to blame for unfilled seats during President Obama's speech to about 300 people in a South Side union hall.
At least 50 seats in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 5 hall were empty when Obama took the stage about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday to pitch the jobs plan that senators later rejected. Obama toured the IBEW's training center, met with members of the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness and delivered a 25-minute speech pushing for passage of his jobs bill.

Redstate writes: In an interview at The Heritage Foundation this week, Shelby criticized Obama for failing to respond to the GOP’s suggested reforms for the CFPB [Consumer Financial Protection Bureau] . As a result, he encouraged Republican leaders to block Cordray and limit Obama’s ability to make a recess appointment.
“Forty-four of us have written a letter to the president and asked for three changes,” Shelby said. “We haven’t heard from the president. Maybe he’s off campaigning. … Until we hear from him, I don’t believe we’re going to confirm anyone.”
He also added: “I think it would be devastating if we let [Obama] make a recess appointment, but that’s the call of the leadership.”
The three reforms include creating a board rather than a single czar to run the agency, subjecting the CFPB to the congressional appropriations process, and making sure it considers impact of new rules on the safety and soundness of financial institutions. http://www.redstate.com/bluey/2011/10/13/sen-richard-shelby-on-why-hes-blocking-the-new-consumer-czars-confirmation

Hot Air reports: Old and busted: Jobs “saved or created.”  New hotness: Jobs “supported.”  In attempting to advance the argument for Barack Obama’s new jobs stimulus plan, the White House has decided to create a new term that has, er, even less meaning than their previous measure: http://hotair.com/archives/2011/10/13/new-obama-metric-jobs-supported/
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------NY Daily News asks: A better question? When do they head to Washington and start yelling about a President who often looks like the Fundraiser-in-Chief, trying to keep his job backed by what might become the richest campaign in history, in a jobless country going broke.
It's why you wonder if there will come a day when the house that Occupy Wall Street is standing in front of isn't Jamie Dimon's on Park Ave., it is the White House.
Say this about the state of the country nearly three years into the Obama administration: If this President didn't create this economic mess, he hasn't done very much to get us out of it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Fox Boston reports: The Coast Guard in Boston confirmed that a woman in uniform was harassed and spat upon by Occupy Boston protesters. The woman was walking to the train and said protesters spit on her twice, called her foul names and even threw a water bottle at her.
Now, the Coast Guard is warning all staff working on Atlantic Avenue to avoid those protesters while in uniform.

Citizens Report opines: A recent check by the Texas’ Secretary of State’s office indicates that 600,000 registered voters do not  have a valid driver’s license or state issued identification card.  In Texas, identification is not required to register to vote but due to a bill just passed by the Texas Legislature, valid identification may be required at the polls to vote if Senate Bill 14 is cleared by the justice department.
As many as a quarter of voters in some small Texas counties might not be able to cast ballots if the federal government allows the new state voter ID law to go into effect.
One concern is that undocumented immigrants have registered to vote in Texas.  Since no identification is required to register to vote , undocumented immigrants could register. http://citizensreport.info/2011/10/13/as-many-as-600000-illegal-aliens-may-be-registered-to-vote-in-texas/

[Here is a good exercise in "connect the dots", brought to us by Free Republic]: Occupy Wall Street protesters have been camped out in and trashing Zuccotti Park for weeks. Zuccotti Park is a very nice private park, right in the middle of Manhattan.
Zuccotti Park is owned by Brookfield Office Properties, which is part of Brookfield Asset Management, worth at least $150 billion.
That’s pretty nice of a big evil corporation to let protesters sleep, smoke weed and go number one and two on its nice private park in downtown Manhattan. Especially since the protesters are protesting big evil corporations. (But then again, President Obama expressed solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street protesters, Nancy Pelosi said “God Bless Them,” and Bill Ayers is writing their collective Occupy Wall Street demands. So someone loves them.)

Hmm. Wonder what that’s about.
One of the big divisions of Brookfield Asset Management is Brookfield Renewable Energy. You know where this is going. This company has received hundreds of millions, if not billions, in “green” grants, stimulus money and DOE loans (a la Solyndra).
With that kind of backing, it is curious that the U.S. Department of Energy announced it would guarantee up to 80 percent of a $168.9 million loan for the Granite Reliable wind farm project last week.

Why would a company created by a $3.2 billion company and backed by a $2.7 billion private fund need federal loan guarantees? That would be an important question at any time, but it is more pertinent after the bankruptcy of Solyndra, a solar-panel maker that got a $535 million federal loan guarantee from the Obama administration last year.

Granite Reliable’s wind farm is not proven, and Granite Reliable is a limited liability company, which provides broad investor protection if the company goes down. If the wind farm flops, and investors cut their losses, the taxpayers stand to lose $135 million.  http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2790976/posts

I Won The World reports: This past Sunday, California Governor Jerry Brown sign Assembly Bill 499 into law that goes a step further in providing preventive care for children 12 and over to prevent contracting STD’s or drug related diseases such as hepatitis B. The new law provides for vaccines for HPV, HIV and hepatitis to be made available to teens without parental consent or knowledge.
What’s even more scary is that these laws coincide with similar laws being pushed by the United Nations to give complete sexual freedom to all children down to the age of 10 to 12. http://iowntheworld.com/blog/?p=99053

U.S.Representative calls for "extra-constitutional" action by Obama; GE CEO has conflict of interest; Blue cities awash in unwashed; Saudi Arabia warns Iran; Union retirees receive $500,000 pensions; Biden blames Republicans for rapes and murders; "Occupy" speaker deems violence and bloodshed to be necessary; Olive Garden says Kiwanis displaying American flag at meeting would be "disruptive; 99 New York organized by "progressive" groups; Voter fraud in Illinois; Tea Party vs Occupy; Iran's leader and leftists in China endorse Occupy; Cain's "hope" for 9-9-9; Occupy calls for government controlled media

Daily Caller reports: Illinois Democratic Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. told The Daily Caller on Wednesday that congressional opposition to the American Jobs Act is akin to the Confederate “states in rebellion.”
Jackson called for full government employment of the 15 million unemployed and said that Obama should “declare a national emergency” and take “extra-constitutional” action “administratively” — without the approval of Congress — to tackle unemployment.
“I hope the president continues to exercise extraordinary constitutional means, based on the history of Congresses that have been in rebellion in the past,” Jackson said. “He’s looking administratively for ways to advance the causes of the American people, because this Congress is completely dysfunctional.”
“On several occasions now, we’ve seen … the Congress is in rebellion, determined, as Abraham Lincoln said, to wreck or ruin at all costs. I believe … in the direct hiring of 15 million unemployed Americans at $40,000 a head, some more than $40,000, some less than $40,000 — that’s a $600 billion stimulus. It could be a five-year program. For another $104 billion, we bailout all of the states … for another $100 billion, we bail out all of the cities.
And if there are extra-constitutional opportunities that allow the president administratively to put the people to work, he should pursue every single one of them,” Jackson suggested.  [Didn't this session of Congress begin with a reading of the Constitution, to which all Representatives pledged their oath?]

Expose Obama reports: National Center for Public Policy Research:
Reacting to the recommendation by President Obama’s jobs panel, chaired by GE CEO Jeff Immelt, that additional federal funds be dedicated to clean energy development, today policy experts from the National Center for Public Policy Research are calling attention to the conflicts of interest surrounding this advice.
“Immelt’s recommending more money for clean energy is a clear conflict of interest. GE has significant investments in solar panels and wind turbines and Immelt needs government backing to profit from his company’s investment in renewable energy. This is an outrageous example of crony capitalism at work,”said Tom Borelli,Ph.D.,director of the National Center for Public Policy Research’s Free Enterprise Project http://www.exposeobama.com/2011/10/12/obamas-jobs-panel%E2%80%99s-recommendations-infested-by-conflicts-of-interest-to-benefit-ge/

Redstate opines: I’m going to diverge a bit from our RedState Echo Chamber® and come out in support of the Occupy Wall Street protests. I’m struggling to find a downside to this bit of theater for conservatives or the GOP. I don’t really see an upside to it for the Administration and the Democrats.
Personally, I can’t think of anything more amusing than several heavily blue cities being overrun by unwashed hipster trash protesting the excesses… or existence… of the industry group that has given Obama truckloads of money. If heads are broken, it will be under the direction of Democrat mayors. If people are inconvenienced they are by and large Democrat voters.
I think the conservatives should get behind this movement. We should make sure these people are able to stay in downtown Boston and New York City and Atlanta and wherever. We should send aid convoys from Red States to the #OWS protests to show that we, too, have been victimized by Barack Obama’s donor base. And we should make sure they get free bus tickets to the Democrat Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The threat from the Saudis came as the Obama administration described the alleged plot as a "dangerous escalation" in the region.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CBS reports: Officials with the parent company of Olive Garden restaurants say they're sorry if a decision regarding an Alabama Kiwanis club's desire to display the American flag caused any concern.

The comments come after 80-year-old Marti Warren of Anniston said she wasn't allowed to bring an American flag into an Olive Garden for a planned Kiwanis Club banquet in the east Alabama town of Oxford.
Warren learned the night of the banquet that she wouldn't be allowed to display the flag or the Kiwanis banner in the restaurant, she said.
"I was so angry," she told WBRC-TV. "I felt like I had been slapped in the face."
Orlando-based parent firm Darden restaurants said in a statement that "like all Americans we have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for the American flag and everything it symbolizes."

  • ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------American Thinker opines: Imagine: if our nation was filled with folks like the protesters, there would be no civil society, no economy, and no opportunity -- except for the chance of a power-grab by totalitarians.  Trash, feces, and bitterness would dominate the landscape.  Property would be something that you take from others, and government bureaucrats would be the main purveyors of that theft.

The mob's understanding of reality is so stunted that the iPhones and blankets and food and even the condoms they depend on are products of a free-market capitalist system they want to demolish.  These are intellectual children -- and a society must have intellectual adults, or it will fail.

On the other hand, if our nation was filled with Tea Party followers, the country would be clean, prosperous, and polite.  There would be significant emphasis on leaving the country better for the next generation.  Opportunity would be there for those who would but pursue it.  Property would be something you have the chance to earn and keep.  Government would be limited and certainly not central to our lives -- indeed, government would protect us from the likes of the mobs.  From what I can tell, no one would mistake a police car for a port-a-potty.  The protests are good news for all conservatives simply by giving everyone a glimpse of the socialist dream world.  These images and the support given to the movement by Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid should be great news for every GOP candidate in November of 2012.  I just refuse to believe that this is the America that a majority of voters want.

Likewise, saying the American people will keep pressure on Congress to not alter or increase the rates is not credible given that Cain and the other Republicans are fighting to repeal a health care law that Congress and the White House pushed through despite a majority of Americans opposed to it and a tea party movement energized to fight it. http://www.redstate.com/erick/2011/10/12/the-moment-with-lasting-impact/

In a September 15 letter LifeNews.com obtained, Rep. Cliff Stearns, a Florida Republican who is the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Investigations, writes to Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood.
“Pursuant to Rules X and XI of the United States House of Representatives, the Committee on Energy and Commerce is examining the institutional practices and policies of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and its affiliates, and its handing of federal funding,” Stearns writes. “That Committee has questions about the politics in place and actions undertaken by PPFA and its affiliates relating to its use of federal funding and its compliance with federal restrictions on the funding of abortion.”

ABC News reports: Money might not make the world go round for the protesters in New York City’s  Zuccotti Park, but it’s certainly starting to help. The movement, which has been described as “organized anarchy” with no presiding leader, has its very own finance team to handle the influx of donations —  which totaled more than $50,000 Tuesday — the group has received. The money is now being kept in a credit union account at the Amalgamated Bank.
“[It's a sign] we’re growing very fast,” said Bre Lembitz, a senior economics major at Clark University who is spending this semester working with Occupy Wall Street after her internship fell through.
Lembitz said the move to a bank has made it easier for the group to accept  larger donations.
The money was previously kept in pots, which were used to collect money from passersby sympathetic to the cause. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/business/2011/10/occupy-wall-streets-bank-account-is-swelling/

The millionaires and billionaires were targeted for what event organizers called a "willingness to hoard wealth at the expense of the 99%."
The march was organized by UnitedNY, the Strong Economy for All Coalition, the Working Families Party and New York Communities for Change. http://money.cnn.com/2011/10/10/news/economy/occupy_wall_street_protest/index.htm

My Fox DC writes: About a hundred anti-establishment protestors held a noisy demonstration in the lobby of the Hart Senate office building, Tuesday, around lunchtime.
A half dozen were arrested, according to U.S. Capitol Police for “unlawful conduct – demonstrating in a capitol building.”

A large contingent of police officers was on hand.
At 11:29 a.m., one group on a balcony unfurled a banner reading “tax the rich,” and almost all the protestors began a series of chants.  Among the chants: “end the war, we are the 99%, we will not be ignored.”

SunPower: Twice As Bad As Solyndra, Twice As Bad For Obama

A photovoltaic solar panel ranch similar to the California Solar Valley Ranch under construction by SunPower in the state's San Luis Obispo County. The $1.2 billion loan guarantee to support the project was finalized in hours before the loan program expired Sept. 30. The company announced Aug. 5 that it will build the panels for the ranch at a new factory it will open in Mexico.

How did a failing California solar company, buffeted by short sellers and shareholder lawsuits, receive a $1.2 billion federal loan guarantee for a photovoltaic electricity ranch project—three weeks after it announced it was building new manufacturing plant in Mexicali, Mexico, to build the panels for the project.

The company, SunPower (SPWR-NASDAQ), now carries $820 million in debt, an amount $20 million greater than its market capitalization.  If SunPower was a bank, the feds would shut it down.  Instead, it received a lifeline twice the size of the money sent down the Solyndra drain. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=46761

The U.S. government says Mehanna, 28, provided “material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization,” and acted as a “media wing” for al-Qaeda.
It’s one thing not to know what you are protesting as some Wall Street occupiers told Reason TV and the organizer of the Sacramento “demonstration” put on by the Sacramento branch of the Occupy Party told CBS13 reporter Tony Lopez. Democracy is always temporary in nature; Obama's czars and the veil of secrecy; Republican Representative call for Obama to have Eric Holder resign; Obama is a lone wolf; Scenes from Occupy Wall St.; Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee asking supports to sign a petition in support of "Occupy"; Working Families Party hires protesters; Voters don't really want to destroy Capitalism; Wikileak shows Obama wanted to go to Hiroshima to apologize in speech; Democrat voter fraud; More states require urine test for safety net

"A democracy is ALWAYS temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that the voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority ALWAYS votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) ALWAYS followed by a dictatorship."

Washington Examiner opines: President Barack Obama has installed personal advisors in czar positions in the White House and has created new czar positions elsewhere in the Executive Branch.  As of the date of this report, the number of czars that have been appointed by the President, or by others in his administration, appears to total 45.  In addition, there are as many as 18 other unfilled or planned czar positions.
Many of these ‘czars’ are unconfirmed by the Senate and are largely unaccountable to Congress.  Further, their activities are often outside the reach of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), creating a veil of secrecy about their precise role in the administration.”
I find this the most intriguing assertion within the release announcing the report:
Czars appointees have seized unprecedented control over major aspects of government policy and programs. In some instances, unconfirmed czars have authority, in seeming violation of the U.S. Constitution, over certain Senate-confirmed officers.

Daily Caller reports: Florida Republican Rep. Allen West is demanding that President Barack Obama force Attorney General Eric Holder to resign.

The New York Post writes: The reports are not good, disturbing even. I have heard basically the same story four times in the last 10 days, and the people doing the talking are in New York and Washington and are spread across the political spectrum.
The gist is this: President Obama has become a lone wolf, a stranger to his own government. He talks mostly, and sometimes only, to friend and adviser Valerie Jarrett and to David Axelrod, his political strategist.
Everybody else, including members of his Cabinet, have little face time with him except for brief meetings that serve as photo ops. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner both have complained, according to people who have talked to them, that they are shut out of important decisions.

The UK Daily Mail reports: Among the banners and flags are now discarded packets of condoms, cigarettes and bottles of spirits, while naked youngsters happily get together with just sleeping bags covering their modesty.
A box of free condoms is kept in the main area where protesters are camping. In one shocking picture, a man can be seen defecating on a police car.
‘I got warrants. I’m running from the law,’ a 24-year-old man from Stamford, Connecticut, told the New York Post. ‘I’m not even supposed to be here, but it’s as good a spot as any to hide.’
Protesters said the site smells like a sewer and the free condoms have given visions of what the Woodstock festival was like. But many have come down for the huge amount of food donated.  [I came across a photo of a man defecating on a burning American flag.  Right - this is just like a Tea Party....]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The The Hill reports: Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is asking supporters to sign a petition in support of the Occupy Wall Street movement.
Meanwhile, some Republicans have criticized the protests.
“I regard the Wall Street protests as a natural outcome of a bad education system teaching them really dumb ideas,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) said on CBS's "Face the Nation."
Others GOPers have expressed sympathy, like Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), an outspoken and long-time critic of the Federal Reserve.
“If they were demonstrating peacefully, and making a point, and arguing our case, and drawing attention to the Fed — I would say, good!” Paul said last week.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said he was "increasingly concerned" by the "mob protests."  http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/186467-dccc-asks-supporters-to-sign-petition-in-support-of-occupy-wall-street

The UK Telegraph reports: Protest is exciting when you are young, and everyone deserves their chance to burn something down. But the political reality is that voters don’t actually want the wheels of Capitalism to stop turning. They don’t want free love or a rainbow nation of stoners. They want a job. That’s why Barack Obama, Joe Biden and the Democratic Party have made a big mistake in expressing sympathy for the Occupy Wall Street movement. They’ve endorsed a happening that is moral in principle but politically toxic. Ordinary voters – the boring, unpretty folks who get up every day and go to work and never once complain – will reject it at the polls. The silent majority will be heard eventually, just like it was back in 1968. http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/timstanley/100109958/the-1960s-radicalism-of-occupy-wall-street-will-help-elect-a-republican-in-2012/

Powerline reports: Over the last couple of weeks several Japanese newspapers have been all over a new Wikileak that so far has not made much of an impression anywhere in American media.  (I know: This is a surprise?)  It seems that Obama wanted to include stops at Hiroshima and Nagasaki as part of his 2009 World Apology Tour, so that he could apologize for Harry Truman dropping the Big One to end World War II.
One problem for The One: Japan was not amused by this idea.  The U.S. embassy in Tokyo cabled Hillary Clinton to suggest with typically gentle diplomatic language that what Obama was proposing would be deeply offensive to Japanese.  From the Japan Times story: http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2011/10/the-world-apology-tour-revisited.php

National Review reveals: Most Democrats scoff at claims of election fraud.
They shouldn’t:
The signatures of dozens, if not hundreds, of northern Indiana residents were faked on petitions used to place presidential candidates on the state primary ballot in 2008, The Tribune and Howey Politics Indiana have revealed in an investigation.
Several pages from petitions used to qualify Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for the state’s Democratic primary contain names and signatures that appear to have been copied by hand from a petition for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jim Schellinger. The petitions were filed with the Indiana Election Division after the St. Joseph County Voter Registration Office verified individuals’ information on the documents. Falsifying a ballot petition is a Class D felony in Indiana. According to Dale Simmons, co-legal counsel for the Elections Division, the statute of limitations for Class D felonies is five years.
According to the newspaper’s investigation, the evidence suggests that at least 19 pages of Obama’s petitions were copied by two individuals.

"Socialism is the philosophy of failure and the gospel of envy"  - Winston Churchill

Vision to America writes: On Thursday, the US senate was poised to cast a pro forma vote on final passage of a China currency bill when Senate Republicans attempted to use the rules of the Senate to attach a post-cloture amendment. The Republican amendment would have required a vote on President Obama’s jobs bill, forcing Democrats to vote on the plan the president has been blaming Republicans for blocking. Because there are insufficient votes among Senate Democrats to force closure or pass the bill, allowing the amendment would have blown up the charade that congressional Republicans are the lone roadblock to Obama’s jobs bill.
Senate Majority Leader Reid objected to the affirmative ruling on the amendment and forced a vote along party lines, 51-48,  to overrule the parliamentarian’s decision to allow it. Reid’s move effectively eliminates the minority’s ability to offer amendments, casting aside Senate history and precedent to change Senate rules simply to avoid a vote on a jobs plan his Democratic president has been demanding from Congress.
The Reid move establishes a dangerous precedent for the minority party. The repeal of Obamacare in January, 2013, may have just shifted from “possibility” to “likelihood,” thanks to a senior Senator who changed the rules simply to avoid embarrassment. Harry’s problems may be just beginning. http://visiontoamerica.org/4653/did-harry-reid-accidentally-set-stage-for-obamacare-repeal/

According to Judicial Watch, Rep. Edolphous Towns (D-NY) has introduced the Presidential Records Act Amendments of 2011. That bill would do with Obama’s presidential records what Obama has already done to his personal and collegiate records: Seal them up.
In an obvious effort to protect President Barack Obama, a group of congressional Democrats has introduced legislation to create an official process that will allow the commander-in-chief to keep presidential records secret after he leaves office.
Ironically, Obama revoked a similar George W. Bush order in one of his first official acts as president. In 2001 Bush penned an executive order severely limiting public access to his presidential records. Shortly after swearing in, Obama killed it as part of his much-ballyhooed commitment to government transparency. At the time, the new president claimed that he was giving the American people greater access to “historic documents.”

Washington State Wire opines: When labor unions attack tax loopholes, they must not mean their own.
Labor unions in this state enjoy a massive tax exemption that costs taxpayers millions of dollars annually – just like the business tax breaks they have been attacking before the Legislature this year.
Unions don’t pay the state business and occupations tax. At current tax rates, the exemption saves them somewhere in the neighborhood of $9 million a year. When you start talking about loopholes, you should talk about all of them,” said state Sen. Mark Schoesler, R-Ritzville. “The hypocrisy of some union bosses never surprises me.” http://www.washingtonstatewire.com/home/9399-while_labor_argues_against_business_tax_loopholes_unions_enjoy_a_big_tax_break_of_their_own.htm

Fox News reports: In challenging Republicans to get behind his jobs bill Thursday, President Barack Obama argued Republicans have supported his proposals before, demanded that they explain themselves if they oppose him, and challenged others to come up with a plan of their own. The rhetoric in the president's quick-moving press conference dodged some facts and left some evidence in the dust.
OBAMA: "The answer we're getting right now is: Well, we're going to roll back all these Obama regulations... Does anybody really think that that is going to create jobs right now and meet the challenges of a global economy?"
THE FACTS: Well, yes, some think it will. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce last month submitted a jobs proposal to Obama that included a call to ease regulations on businesses. It specifically called for streamlining environmental reviews on major construction projects and to delay the issuance of some potentially burdensome regulations until the economy and employment have improved. In the letter, Chamber President Thomas Donohue also called on Congress to pass legislation that would require congressional approval of major regulations.__
OBAMA: "We can either keep taxes exactly as they are for millionaires and billionaires, with loopholes that lead them to have lower tax rates, in some cases, than plumbers and teachers, or we can put teachers and construction workers and veterans back on the job."
THE FACTS: True, "in some cases" wealthy people can exploit loopholes to make their tax rate lower than for people of middle or low income. In recent rhetoric, Obama had suggested it was commonplace for rich people to pay lower rates than others, a claim not supported by IRS statistics. But on Thursday, Obama accurately stated that it only happens sometimes. http://nation.foxnews.com/president-obama/2011/10/06/ap-fact-check-tears-obamas-press-conference-pieces

The Weekly Standard writes: This morning, Mitt Romney used his foreign policy address at the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina to criticize what he called the Obama administration's "feckless policies of the last three years."
"I believe we are an exceptional country with a unique destiny and role in the world," Romney said, with an audience of cadets sitting behind him. "Not exceptional, as the president has derisively said, in the way that the British think Great Britain is exceptional or the Greeks think Greece is exceptional. In Barack Obama’s profoundly mistaken view, there is nothing unique about the United States."
In his closing argument, Romney contrasted his vision of America's role in the world with that of Obama. "I will not surrender America’s role in the world," he said. "This is very simple. If you do not want America to be the strongest nation on Earth, I am not your president. You have that president today." The cadets applauded.  http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/romney-criticizes-obama-military-college_595156.html

Business Insider writes: In 2011, the Treasury Department warned the DOE about the questionable legality of Solyndra's refinancing deal, which put investors ahead of taxpayers in the event the company went under.
"In February, we requested in writing that DOE seek the Department of Justice’s approval of any proposed restructuring,” an assistant Treasury secretary wrote in an August 2011 memo to the OMB. “To our knowledge that never happened.”
Another email, obtained by TIME, suggests that Solyndra's bad finances and poor business model were well-known within the solar panel industry. A February 2009 letter from the CEO of Solyndra's main competitor, Nanosolar, basically asks what everyone in the country is asking now:
“In light of the DoE loan program application of a competitor of ours, Solyndra, and given the well-publicized rapidly deteriorating financial state of this company as well as its failure to secure new investors and maintain a balance sheet adequate for product introduction, I would appreciate clarification from you about whether the DoE loan guarantee program is suitable as a ‘bail-out’ program for failing private manufacturers."

The Gateway Pundit writes: Chanting “The whole world is watching!” the Occupy DC protesters tried to storm the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum today. They pinned a guard against the wall.
The mob forced the museum to shut its doors early.
According to Smithsonian spokesperson Linda St. Thomas, a crowd of “about 100 to 200 people” tried to enter through the museum’s Mall entrance.
“They were carrying signs and a lot of protest materials,” St. Thomas said in a statement. “You cannot bring that stuff into the museum under any circumstances.”
According to St. Thomas, the crowd tried to shove its way into the museum after being denied entry by security.
“One security guard was grabbed and pinned against the wall. He could not extract himself,” the spokesperson said. “Another security guard came over to help him and ended up pepper-spraying one person.”

Global Research opined: Obama has campaigned against restrictions on bonuses paid to executives at insurance giant American International Group (AIG) and other bailed-out firms, and repeatedly assured Wall Street that he will slash social spending, including Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
The new financial disclosures reveal that top Obama advisors directly involved in setting these policies have received millions from Wall Street firms, including those that have received huge taxpayer bailouts.
[Summers  is] rather typical of the Wall Street insiders who comprise a cabinet and White House team that is filled with multi-millionaires, presided over by a president who parlayed his own political career into a multi-million-dollar fortune.
Michael Froman, deputy national security adviser for international economic affairs, worked for Citigroup and received more than $7.4 million from the bank from January of 2008 until he entered the Obama administration this year. This included a $2.25 million year-end bonus handed him this past January, within weeks of his joining the Obama administration.
Citigroup has thus far been the beneficiary of $45 billion in cash and over $300 billion in government guarantees of its bad debts.
David Axelrod, the Obama campaign’s top strategist and now senior adviser to the president, was paid $1.55 million last year from two consulting firms he controls. He has agreed to buyouts that will garner him another $3 million over the next five years. His disclosure claims personal assets of between $7 and $10 million.
Obama’s deputy national security adviser, Thomas E. Donilon, was paid $3.9 million by a Washington law firm whose major clients include Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and the private equity firm Apollo Management.
Louis Caldera, director of the White House Military Office, made $227,155 last year from IndyMac Bancorp, the California bank that heavily promoted subprime mortgages. It collapsed last summer and was placed under federal receivership. http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=13208

It added: 'Now's your chance to change that.'

American Thinker writes: It should be no surprise, then, that the Occupy Wall Street uprisings are happening.  After all, such mob uprisings have historical precedent.  Anarchy followed by tyranny occurs whenever weakness and a power vacuum, perceived or real, exists.

Examples from history abound, but two cases may be particularly pertinent.
The result of the incompatibility of these two entities -- on the one side, free and constitutionally established governmental and economic institutions, and on the other, the means and goals of the current radical administration and its allies -- is civil unrest to a degree scarcely seen since the Civil War.

Thus we have the Wall Street protestors, who have now been joined by the too-often thuggish labor unions, organizations which have historically have often been wedded to violence as a means of achieving what cannot be gained by bargaining or legislative and judicial process.  Comforting murmurs of support from President Obama, who says he understands the frustrations of the marchers, and House minority leader Nancy Pelosi's blessing -- "God bless Wall Street protestors"-- are green-light indicators that the Democratic leadership is callously and recklessly encouraging the mobs taking over the streets of our largest cities.
It is conceivable that a combination of anarchists, labor unions, and left-leaning media could unite and utilize the unrest and chaos to derail the 2012 elections themselves, giving the administration the opportunity to suspend elections because of a national emergency.  The nightmare that would ensue is almost unimaginable, as the tactics already utilized by the administration could become even more fully utilized.  The erosion of the rule of law and constitutional institutions would be assured.

Thus the slippery slope to dictatorship begins. http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/10/the_american_revolution_of_2012.html

The LA Times reports: Republican presidential contender Herman Cain amplified his criticism Sunday of the growing Occupy Wall Street movement, calling the protesters “jealous’ Americans who "play the victim card” and want to “take somebody else's” Cadillac.

On CBS, Cain suggested that the rallies had been organized by labor unions to serve as a “distraction so that many people won’t focus on the failed policies of the Obama administration.”
The banking and financial services industries aren’t responsible for those policies, Cain said. “To protest Wall Street and the bankers is basically saying you’re anti-capitalism,” he said.
“There a lot of people in America who are angry,” Newt Gingrich said. “This is the natural product of President Obama’s class warfare.”  http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-pn-cain-occupy-wall-street-20111009,0,972806.story

Townhall reports: The look on Lewis' face throughout these, um, "deliberations" is absolutely priceless.  When his speaking opportunity is ultimately nixed, he just wanders off in a confused daze.  Isn't the Left awesome, Congressman?  The cringe-worthy preciousness and feel-goodery of the entire episode evokes a dystopic kindergarten setting, in which every child and teacher has equal say in everything.  If it weren't so laugh-out-loud pathetic, I think this video represents a snapshot of my own personal hell.  I'll leave you with the latest edit to "The People's Document," which is this incoherent movement's non-binding manifesto, of sorts.  It seems they've hit on a new plan for how to run the country and distribute wealth "fairly."  The good news?  They (for the moment) want to eliminate all taxes except for a universal four-percent sales tax.  The bad news?  They want to mandate maximum salaries for everyone.  Their scheme pegs a doctor's top income at $28,000 -- $500 less than "public servant" salaries: http://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/2011/10/09/video_occupy_atlanta_silences_rep_john_lewis_via_jazz_hands

Daily Caller reports: Despite his rhetorical attacks on Wall Street, a study by the Sunlight Foundation’s Influence Project shows that President Barack Obama has received more money from Wall Street than any other politician over the past 20 years, including former President George W. Bush.

When asked by The Daily Caller to comment about President Obama’s credibility when it comes to criticizing Wall Street, the White House declined to reply.

Townhall 's Star Parker writes: I wouldn’t think it would be worthwhile to draw attention to the Occupy Wall Street “movement,” or its list of demands that wouldn’t pass muster in an average kindergarten class.
But if America’s president and vice president choose to talk about it, and give it credibility, then it’s news.
According to VP Joe Biden, demands such as free college, pay independent of work, a $20 minimum wage (why not $100 or $1000?), and a nation with open borders have legitimacy and “a lot in common with the tea party movement.”
President Obama sees these demonstrations against corporate America as reasonable protest toward “the same folks who acted irresponsibly trying to crack down on abusive practices that got us into this situation to begin with.”
This should provide perspective to what our most fundamental problem is today.
We have an endangered species in America whose loss threatens our future. That species is called the American adult. http://townhall.com/columnists/starparker/2011/10/10/more_from_the_culture_of_narcissism/page/full/
