Whether residents were mentally ready or not, a training exercise involving Air Force KC-135 tankers, Air Force F-16s, and a Coast Guard HH-65 Dolphin helicopters took place this morning in Chicago as part of the military’s preparation for the NATO Summit that begins on Sunday.

Actor and comedian Jon Lovitz went on the Sean Hannity Show Thursday night and proved that his well-known “bullsh*t” rant was no fluke: he has absolutely no problem with criticizing President Barack Obama’s tactics or policies.
“What I find is [the president] is hypocritical with saying, you know, ‘the 1 percent don’t get us,‘ and he’s a multi-millionaire now,” Lovitz said during his interview Hannity.
“‘You know, they’re not paying their fair share of taxes, now I‘m going over to George Clooney’s house to get money from millionaires and billionaires,’” Lovitz said, imitating President Obama, “and he collected $15 million!”
“‘Wall Street are the bad guys, but now I have to go to a dinner with Wall Street people to get money for my campaign,” Lovitz said, continuing his imitation of the president.
Lovitz then offered some advice for the president: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/jon-lovitz-to-president-obama-stop-it-with-the-victim-mentality/

Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whose "God damn America" sermon set off a firestorm during the 2008 campaign, agreed not to publish an account of the episode until after President Obama's 2012 re-election campaign, according to an interview Wright conducted with the author of a new book on Obama.  Wright said he made the decision at the urging of a friend and mentor, the prominent University of Chicago emeritus professor Martin Marty.
In the interview, Wright told Ed Klein, author of The Amateur: Barack Obama in the White House, that he keeps a cardboard box of documents and notes detailing his experiences beginning in March 2008, when the controversy over his sermons began.  "It's a painful box to look at," Wright said.  http://campaign2012.washingtonexaminer.com/article/rev-wright-urged-stay-silent-until-after-2012/553106

In a considerable setback for a president eager to ravage the due process rights of the American people, Federal Judge Kathleen Forrest granted a preliminary injunction on Wednesday, striking down those sections of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2012 which sought to provide Barack Obama the power to indefinitely detain citizens without benefit of their 5th Amendment rights.
Signed very quietly into law on New Year’s Eve, the controversial Act has been roundly criticized as unconstitutional by groups on both the political left and right. Of greatest concern was Section 1021, which grants the United States military authority to exercise police powers on American soil. Upon order of the president and at his sole discretion, agents of the military are empowered to detain “until the end of hostilities” anyone the president believes to have “substantially supported” al Qaeda, the Taliban, or “associated forces.”
Judge Forrest concluded that the Section “…failed to ‘pass Constitutional muster’ because its broad language could be used to quash political dissent.” In a statement clearly directed to lawmakers, she added,   ”Section 1021 tries to do too much with too little – it lacks the minimal requirements of definition and scienter that could easily have been added, or could be added, to allow it to pass constitutional muster.” That is, Congress failed—perhaps deliberately– to define “substantial support” of terrorist groups or describe those activities which might be construed as crossing the legal line. And no law may be enforced if those to whom it applies are unable to clearly understand what a violation of that law entails.
According to Democrat Senator Carl Levin, it was Obama himself who demanded American citizens be included under the detention law and that the President have exclusive authority to invoke the statute. “The language which precluded the application of Section [1021] to American citizens was in the bill that we originally approved…and the administration asked us to remove the language which says that U.S. citizens and lawful residents would not be subject to this section,” said Levin after the NDAA was signed into law.http://www.westernjournalism.com/judge-strikes-down-ndaa-rules-obama-must-obey-constitution/

Here is news from the Michigan Republican State Convention, comin gto me from Saul Anuzis, the now former State party Chair: Congratulations to Dave Agema & Terri Lynn Land
At this weekend’s Michigan Republican Convention, Holly Hughes and I were defeated for re-election to the RNC.

Tea Party, Ron Paul and “anti-establishment” fever swept the convention.

I have learned that Florida election officials are set to announce that the secretary of state has discovered and purged up to 53,000 dead voters from the voter rolls in Florida.
How could 53,000 dead voters have sat on the polls for so long?  Simple. Because Florida hadn’t been using the best available data revealing which voters have died.  Florida is now using the nationwide Social Security Death Index for determining which voters should be purged because they have died.
Here is the bad news.  Most states aren’t using the same database that Florida is.  In fact, I have heard reports that some election officials won’t even remove voters even when they are presented with a death certificate.  That means that voter rolls across the nation still are filled with dead voters, even if Florida is leading the way in detecting and removing them.  But surely people aren’t voting in the names of dead voters, the voter fraud deniers argue.  Wrong.  http://pjmedia.com/jchristianadams/2012/05/16/53000-dead-voters-found-in-florida/

Watching Obama campaign ads or MSNBC, one could easily come to the conclusion that Bain Capital makes money by destroying the companies it owns. So for voters unsure about the business that Mitt Romney founded but still reluctant to trust the financial analysis offered by community organizers, some perspective might be helpful.
The basic Obama-liberal critique goes like this: Bain buys a company, loads it with debt and then sucks out cash before foisting the wounded business upon an unsuspecting buyer or a bankruptcy court. In the risk-taking world of private equity such a scenario can certainly happen, and it's true that Bain likes management fees and dividends as much as the next partnership.
If Bain's standard operating procedure were to hand the next owner of one of its companies a ticking bankruptcy package, how is Bain still finding buyers nearly three decades later? And who would agree to lend money to a company backed by Bain? Wouldn't word have gotten around by, say, 1987 that Bain's portfolio companies weren't creditworthy?   http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303360504577412403839709854.html?mod=WSJ_Opinion_LEADTop
