Allowing a President to keep his records secret; A thought on abortion; NRC protestor had machete strapped to leg; Anarchists and Tampa's Emergency Medical Services; GOP not itching to re-enslave blacks; Household incomes drop with Obama; Obama's Medicare lies - on Medicare and on Twitter followers

According to Judicial Watch, Rep. Edolphous Towns (D-NY) has introduced the Presidential Records Act Amendments of 2011. That bill would do with Obama’s presidential records what Obama has already done to his personal and collegiate records: Seal them up.
In an obvious effort to protect President Barack Obama, a group of congressional Democrats has introduced legislation to create an official process that will allow the commander-in-chief to keep presidential records secret after he leaves office.
Ironically, Obama revoked a similar George W. Bush order in one of his first official acts as president. In 2001 Bush penned an executive order severely limiting public access to his presidential records. Shortly after swearing in, Obama killed it as part of his much-ballyhooed commitment to government transparency. At the time, the new president claimed that he was giving the American people greater access to “historic documents.” http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2011/10/05/democrats-introduce-bill-to-seal-up-obamas-presidential-records/

While one may disagree with Romney, his running mate Paul Ryan, and every Republican on Capitol Hill, the notion that the GOP is itching to re-enslave blacks is an outrageous, disgusting lie that utterly mutilates American history. As most students learn in junior high school, abolitionists launched the Republican party to end slavery. Republicans defeated the Confederacy and then spent Reconstruction trying to incorporate blacks into American society. Democrats fought them at every turn.
Democrats opposed the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, which bans slavery, and the 14th Amendment, which guarantees every American equal protection under law, regardless of race. Unwilling to limit their anti-black hate to Capitol Hill, Democrats founded the Ku Klux Klan as, in essence, the party’s militant wing. In the 1920s, Democrats defeated the GOP’s federal anti-lynching legislation. Led by West Virginia’s Robert Byrd — a one-time Exalted Cyclops in the KKK who recruited 150 new Klansmen — Senate Democrats filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Republicans broke that filibuster and moved that landmark legislation to President Lyndon Baines Johnson’s desk for signature.
If this nastiness continues, something truly ugly could happen. The Right’s public discourse has its blemishes. But hatred, invective, and racial pot-stirring are light years more common and intense on the left.
Obama should blow his own dog whistle and tell his partisans to cease and desist. They should discuss today’s issues. Slavery is not among them. [The columnist is black....]  http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/315029/drop-racial-rhetoric-deroy-murdock

Hope and Change? Household Income drops 4.8% Decrease During the Recovery
In another blow to the Obama administration, The LA Times reported on August 23rd that household income dropped 4.8% during the so-called ‘recovery.’  Madeline Albright wants to “Blame Bush Forever,” but it appears that frivolous tactic isn’t going to work here because, as this data indicates, Obama made things worse.
For households headed by those between the ages of 25 and 34, real median annual income fell 8.9% from $54,520 in June 2009 to $49,659.
– The opposite occurred for households headed by those 65 to 74 years old. For this age bracket, income rose by 6.5% from $39,548 to $42,113 during the same three-year period.
– Regionally, the drops were disparate. Households in the West region saw a drop of 8.5% — from $59,065 to $54,071 — compared with the Midwest’s 1.1% decline.
– Perhaps the starkest drop was among African American households, which saw median income drop 11.1% from $36,567 to $32,498. http://hotair.com/greenroom/archives/2012/08/26/newsflash-household-income-dropped-4-8-during-obama-recovery/

You can’t just make stuff up,” the President said last week. [If you are Barack Obama - oh, yes you can.  You can even lie about anything you want.]  “That’s something that you learn as President.” But in the two weeks since Mitt Romney picked Paul Ryan as his running mate, President Obama has misleadingly defended his health law’s $716 billion in cuts to Medicare over the next decade. And on Saturday, the Obama campaign came out with a new ad, approved by the President, claiming that Mitt Romney’s Medicare plan could require seniors to pay $6,400 more a year for health insurance. That claim is not only false, but brazenly and incontrovertibly so. Indeed, almost everything in the ad is wrong except for the phrase “I’m Barack Obama, and I approved this message.” http://www.forbes.com/sites/aroy/2012/08/27/fact-checking-obamas-campaign-ad-about-romneys-proposal-for-medicare-reform/

A little bird told me that millions of Obama’s Twitter followers are fake. As a USA Today article finds, around 70% of the president’s 18.8 million followers are drone accounts (if one excludes his real life Twitter followers).  [Just another Obama lie....]
According to a report by the NY Times,  a mediocre celebrity, unfunny comic, or failing president can purchase blocks of phony Twitter IDs. President Obama’s 70% fake rating is just under Lady Gaga’s, whose 29 million followers.  http://www.ijreview.com/2012/08/13812-millions-of-obamas-twitter-followers-are-fake/

National Republican party officials on Wednesday put their party officially on record opposing United Nations‘ attempts, some backed by Democrats in Congress, to assess a special tax on Americans and give the money to Third World nations.
In a resolution, the Republican National Committee made clear its objection to “three global taxes and a global monetary governance mechanism to raise $400 billion a year to aid developing countries.”
The move also could have the practical effect of complicating the ability of the U.S. to participate in such international accords as the Law of the Sea Treaty, which the U.S. Senate has never ratified, and successor agreements to the Kyoto global-warming pact. http://frontporchpolitics.com/2012/08/u-n-proposes-tax-on-americans/
