Threats to our Governor; Concealed Weapons bill;

"Just know one thing, Rick Snyder: You sign that bill, you won't get no rest," said Rev. Charles Williams II at the Tuesday rally in Lansing, according to Michigan Capitol Confidential. "We'll meet you on Geddes Road. We'll be at your daughter's soccer game. We'll visit you at your church. We'll be at your office." The link between unions and Planned Parenthood may wind up defunding the abortion provider as well as cutting funds for pro-homosexual activist groups in Michigan. This is because Governor Rick Snyder has signed the Right-to-Work law, which leaves workers free to work without joining a union or paying dues to one.

Up until now, a huge portion of the forced dues collected by the unions has been spent supporting politicians who are clearly pro-abortion and pro same-sex marriage. Michigan has been largely unionized because of the great number of government jobs and auto industry jobs. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/12/13/Michigan-Right-to-Work-Defunds-Planned-Parenthood
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Carrying concealed weapons into schools, churches and stadiums is against the law in Michigan, but it might not be for much longer.
Lawmakers in both the House and Senate approved Senate Bill 59 to allow concealed weapons in several gun-free zones Thursday, as well as doing away with county boards currently overseeing concealed pistol licensing. http://www.petoskeynews.com/news/featured/pnr-bill-allowing-guns-in-michigan-schools-churches-heads-to-governor-20121214,0,6783106.story
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A knife-wielding man slashed 22 children and an adult at an elementary school in central China on Friday, state media reported, the latest in a series of attacks on schoolchildren in the country.  [I wonder if they will attempt to take away all knives from the citizens....  They then may have to use a baseball bat...] http://patdollard.com/2012/12/knife-wielding-man-slashes-22-children-in-china/

Denver police say four people were set afire during an assault in North Denver Thursday night.
The incident happened in the 4300 block of Lipan Street shortly before 7:30 p.m.
Police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez said two black males knocked on an apartment door and when a woman answered, she was sprayed with some type of liquid from a lawn and garden sprayer.  The woman was then set afire when the men threw a match or lighter on her. [I guess the gun is not the only way crazy people do harm to others. Is a sprayer going to be illegal now?]  http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/local-news/several-people-set-on-fire-during-attempted-robbery-in-north-denver

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality says gas drilling by hydraulic fracturing has been going on for 50 years in about 12,000 wells across the state with no environmental damage or jeopardization of public health. The state already has strong regulations and there has never been a serious incident.http://www.michigancapitolconfidential.com/17999

For the past several months, we have been working with Gov. Snyder's team and lawmakers on this second round of legislation, part of our Secure and Fair Elections (SAFE) package. Senate Bill 810 was approved by the House and Senate, and is now on its way to Gov. Snyder for his signature.

One of the provisions of the bill includes a requirement that voters - in signing their ballot application - affirm that they meet all the requirements to vote. In other words, that they are age 18 or older, that they are a registered voter in that community AND that they are U.S. citizen. Click here for news coverage. Click here for the official press release.

Other provisions of the bill would:

a. Help ensure our men and women serving in the military will have their vote count by allowing the secretary to extend the counting deadline beyond Election Day if necessary - as a matter of procedure - if local jurisdictions are late in sending out absentee ballots.
b. Extend the same common-sense photo ID (or affidavit) requirements now in place at the polls on Election Day to absentee voters who pick up their ballot at their local clerk's office.
c. Help stop ballot coaching in our nursing homes to protect our most vulnerable voters.

Tom Monaghan, a devout Roman Catholic, says contraception is not health care and instead is a "gravely immoral" practice. He's a plaintiff in a lawsuit filed Friday in federal court, along with his Domino's Farms, which runs an office park near Ann Arbor.
Monaghan offers health insurance that excludes contraception and abortion for employees. The new law requires employers to offer insurance that includes contraception coverage or risk fines. Monaghan says the law violates his constitutional rights, and he's asking a judge to strike down the mandate.

Enlightened Marxist Harry Belafonte was on with pal Al Sharpton this week. His advice for Obama was to imprison opposition like a “third world dictator.”  "I mean, they are violating the American desire!"- http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012/12/belafonte-advice-to-obama-imprison-opposition-like-a-third-world-dictator-video/

USA Today wrote that by mid-December the federal government is planning to quietly enact what could be the largest consolidation of personal data in the history of the Republic.  Uncle Sam will serve up critical information on 300 million Americans.
They wrote: "In order to determine eligibility for health insurance subsidies, the new exchanges have to bring together information about your and your family from the Treasury Department and IRS, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, as well as your Social Security number - all coordinated by
the Department of Health and Human Services."  The potential for abuse is staggering.  [Since the federal data will be combined with data streams from state governments, this hub will be a central database linking critical state and federal data on every U.S. citizen for real-time access.  Isn't Obamacare wonderful?]  http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2012/12/06/column-potential-obamacare-privacy-nightmare/1752211/

This story is a week old, actually. Strangely, you haven't seen any real coverage of this development in mainstream media, perhaps because it concerns a crucial legal setback for Barack Obama and Kathleen Sebelius in a New York federal court.
As is Eric Holder's style when his Justice Department is challenged, he attempts not to argue the typically weak legal issues he has but to challenge the standing or timing of the challengers. That's worked in some of the 42 religious lawsuits filed over ObamaCare's pending implementation that the churches say violate their constitutional protections for religious freedom.
But that strategy did not work in the Eastern District Federal Courtroom of Judge Brian Cogan. For the first time, a federal judge allowed this constitutional challenge of ObamaCare to proceed.
