Pres skipped Intelligence Briefing on day the Middle East burned; Kansas will decide eligibility on Monday; The perils of Obama's foreign policy; Administration collaborated for green energy agenda in possible violation of the law; NBC correspondent almost had to sit down; Obama eyes Internet tax;

*Marc Thiessen provides a shocker in his Washington Post column: the day after America’s embassy in Cairo was assaulted and the consulate in Benghazi, Libya fell victim to an armed attack that killed four, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, the president once again skipped his intelligence briefing, choosing instead to fly off to Las Vegas to fundraise while the world continued to burn.
This after being inexcusably unprepared for, and unaware of the threat of, violent protests and, in the case of Libya, a terrorist attack against the official representatives of the United States of America in two North African nations. Since those attacks, protests have taken place in Yemen, Tunisia, and Kuwait, with State Department warnings having been issued for several more countries.
The all-Republican Objections Board voted unanimously on Thursday afternoon to delay a final decision on Obama's eligibility for the state's ballot until a meeting Monday, pending either documentation on the president's citizenship from Hawaii officials or the presence of the Obama campaign.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Russia. When Obama became president he proclaimed a policy of “reset” in U.S.-Russia relations, and tried strenuously to bring Russia within the Atlantic orbit of democracy and the rule of law. To that end he scrapped the proposed land-based missile interceptors in Poland and the Czech Republic, politely ignored Russia’s continuing occupation of Georgian territory, negotiated a nuclear arms reduction treaty that slashes the U.S. stockpile (while failing to implement the modernization commitments he made to pass that treaty), and promised “more flexibility” in further missile talks should he win a second term. He has sought to liberalize trade with Russia by de-linking human rights from commercial exchange, while he quietly opposes the Magnitsky Act, which would ban Russians involved in the abuse of human rights from the United States.  [Go to the link to read about all of Obama's foreign policy gaffes.]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------An Obama administration official actively collaborated with a prominent left-wing think tank in 2011 to advance the president’s green energy agenda, in possible violation of federal law, emails obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------CHUCK TODD: I just want to get your first reaction, before you give me a report, of the President saying Egypt was not an ally or an enemy.
PETER RICHARD ENGEL: Yeah, I almost had to sit down when I heard that. For the last forty years, the United States has had two main allies in the Middle East — Saudi Arabia and Egypt, the other ally in the Middle East being Israel. For the President to come out and say, well, he’s not exactly sure if Egypt is an ally any more but it’s not an enemy, that is a significant change in the perspective of Washington toward this country, the biggest country in the Arab world. It makes one wonder, well, was it worth it? Was it worth supporting the Arab Spring, supporting the demonstrations here in Tahrir Square, when now in Tahrir Square there are clashes going on behind me right in front of the US embassy?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The Obama Administration just can’t seem to stop breaking the law so that it may steal more money out of your pocket books and bank accounts. In yet another shocking and illegal power grab, the President Obama’s FCC announced last month that it is seeking to tax the Internet!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Florida has received a green light to implement its new early votingschedule for the November presidential election, including a Republican-backed plan that eliminates early voting on the Sunday before Election Day.
The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division agreed to end its challenge to the new early voting scheme in Florida, considered a critical battleground in the upcoming election.
The department notified state officials late Wednesday that it would approve the state’s plan for early voting, provided election supervisors in five designated counties agree to offer 96 hours of early voting over an 8-day period.

With excruciating detail, the White House’s budget office on Friday laid out exactly where it will have to cut $109 billion from federal spending in January, including $11.1 billion from Medicare and $54.7 billion from defense spending.
The defense cuts include $21.5 billion from operations and maintenance for the ArmyNavyAir Force and Marines and the reserves and National Guard, and nearly $1.4 billion from military aide to Afghanistan, with tens of billions coming from procurement and other Pentagon accounts.
“The report leaves no question that the sequestration would be deeply destructive to national security, domestic investments, and core government functions,” the White House’s budget office said in the report.

While the world is engulfed in Islamist ragefests, including the storming of Western embassies across the Middle East and the evacuation of the University of Texas at Austin due to bomb threats, President Obama is doing what he does best.

He’s hobnobbing with celebrities.
Last night, as the German embassy in Sudan smoldered, Tunisian police fired tear gas at US embassy rioters, the American military upgraded its presence in Yemen, investigations continued in Libya, Islamists burned American flags in London, Islamists invaded the US embassy in Tunisia, rioters went insane in Lebanon, protesters in Jordan went crazy, protests continued in Egypt, and crowds began to form in Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Iraq, the Obama campaign tweeted, “Beyoncé and Jay-Z are hosting the President in New York—your chance for two spots on the guest list ends at midnight.” Priorities, people! Breitbart's Big Government, by Ben Shapiro

Kansas has hearing on Obama's citizenship; America's poor; Is Egypt our ally?; U.S.Marines with no ammo in Egypt; Israel checks Obama's birth certificate;

Kansas officials plan to hold a hearing Thursday afternoon to weigh whether President Barack Obama is a citizen and should appear on the state's November ballot.
The Kansas Objections Board will be considering a challenge filed by Joe Montgomery, a Manhattan resident, who Monday objected to Obama being on the ballot. He claims the president is not an American citizen since his father was a citizen of the United Kingdom and Kenya. The all-Republican board -- which consists of Secretary of State Kris Kobach, Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer and Attorney General Derek Schmidt -- has the power to remove Obama from the ballot in his mother's home state.
But what does it mean to say that 46.2 million Americans are “poor”? For most people, the word “poverty” suggests near destitution: an inability to provide nutritious food, clothing, and reasonable shelter for one’s family. However, only a small number of the 46.2 million persons classified as “poor” by the Census Bureau fit that description.
Nearly all “poor” persons live in houses or apartments that are in good repair and not overcrowded; in fact, the dwelling of the average poor American is larger than the house or apartment of the average non-poor person in countries such as France and the United Kingdom. By their own reports, most poor persons in America had sufficient funds to meet all essential needs and to obtain medical care for family members throughout the year whenever needed.
Some 80 percent of poor adults and 96 percent of poor children were never hungry at any time during the year because they could not afford food. The average consumption of protein, vitamins, and minerals is virtually the same for poor and middle-class children and is well above recommended norms in most cases. Some 80 percent of poor households have air conditioning; nearly two-thirds have cable or satellite TV; half have a personal computer; 43 percent have Internet access; and one-third have a wide-screen plasma or LCD TV.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------President Barack Obama didn't intend to signal any change in the U.S.-Egypt relationship last night when he said Egypt is not an "ally," the White House told The Cable today.  [He is just clueless.}
In an interview with Telemundo Wednesday night, Obama said that the U.S. relationship with the new Egyptian government was a "work in progress," and emphasized that the United States is counting on the government of Egypt to better protect the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, which was attacked by protesters on Sept. 11.
"I don't think that we would consider them an ally, but we don't consider them an enemy," Obama said. "They're a new government that is trying to find its way. They were democratically elected. I think that we are going to have to see how they respond to this incident.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------U.S. Marines defending the American embassy in Egypt were not permitted by the State Department to carry live ammunition, limiting their ability to respond to attacks like those this week on the U.S. consulate in Cairo.
Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson “did not permit U.S. Marine guards to carry live ammunition,” according to multiple reports on U.S. Marine Corps blogs spotted by Nightwatch. “She neutralized any U.S. military capability that was dedicated to preserve her life and protect the US Embassy.”
[Please note that this information on the Obama birth certificate comes from none other than the NYT!.] Israel Science and Technology, the national database and directory of science and technology-related websites in Israel, has published an article asserting the long-form birth certificate released by the White House is a forged document.

[Israel Hanukoglu, Ph.D.] established the first version of his website during his tenure as Netanyahu’s science adviser. The site has evolved into “the premier science and technology portal for Israel.” ...

The website says the publication “of such a blatantly fake document about something so basic as the birthplace of Mr. Obama, should raise great concern about the suitability of the person who is holding the reigns on the most powerful country of the World.”

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The US administration is now facing a crisis in Libya. Sensitive documents have gone missing from the consulate in Benghazi and the supposedly secret location of the "safe house" in the city, where the staff had retreated, came under sustained mortar attack. Other such refuges across the country are no longer deemed "safe".
Some of the missing papers from the consulate are said to list names of Libyans who are working with Americans, putting them potentially at risk from extremist groups, while some of the other documents are said to relate to oil contracts.
According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and "lockdown", under which movement is severely restricted.

Libya violence; Libyan security forces abet; Indefinite detention declared unconstitutional; More aid to Egypt via Obama; Attack "not easy" for Americans; "Obama, Obama, there are still a million Osamas!; Obama attends only 43% of daily intelligence briefings; Kathleen Sebelius violated Hatch Act; Storming Yemen today; 16 hours to disavow our sorrow over offending Muslims

The U.S. ambassador to Libya and three embassy staff were killed as they rushed away from a consulate building in Benghazi, stormed by al Qaeda-linked gunmen blaming America for a film that they said insulted the Prophet Mohammad.

According to a CBS News report updated at 8:39 am Eastern time Wednesday, the Libyan security forces hired to protect the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya moved Ambassador Chris Stevens to a second building within the consulate, then told the militant crowds where he was:

Though information on the circumstances surrounding Ambassador Stevens's death remain unclear, it appears that the embassy was not guarded by American Marines, but instead by local Libyans hired to act as a security force.

But some reports indicated that he may not have been killed in an attack on the car, but instead was dragged through the crowd and killed in some other manner. A photograph purporting to be of Ambassador Stevens, who appears to be still alive, but being dragged through a crowd of militant protesters, appeared on the website National Turk.

*An anti-terrorism law was struck down Wednesday by a federal judge who said she saw legitimate fears in claims by journalists, scholars and political activists that they could face indefinite detention for exercising First Amendment rights. U.S. District Judge Katherine Forrest in Manhattan ruled that the law, passed as part of the National Defense Authorization Act for 2012, was unconstitutional. She said the government has softened its position toward those who filed suit challenging the law, but she said the “shifting view” could not erase the threat of indefinite military detention. She urged Congress to make the law more specific or consider whether it is needed at all.
“First Amendment rights are guaranteed by the Constitution and cannot be legislated away,” Forrest wrote. “This Court rejects the Government’s suggestion that American citizens can be placed in military detention indefinitely, for acts they could not predict might subject them to detention.”
Congress has restricted and, in fact, halted military aid to Egypt until and “unless the State Department certifies that Egypt is making progress on basic freedoms and human rights.” After all, Christians and other practitioners of non-Islamic religions have had a tough go of it there. And of course, many Egyptian officials harbor such hatred toward the U.S. that one of the candidates for the Egyptian presidency has openly referred to America as the “infidel country” in media interviews.
Nevertheless, the news breaking now is that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will soon announce that President Obama will “resume funding for Egypt’s military, despite Congressional restrictions and objections from human rights and democracy advocates.”
Even Sen. Patrick J. Leahy (D-VT), a man with whom I’ve never agreed on anything, sees the foolishness of this endeavor: “I believe [sending the aid] would be a mistake. The new [restrictions were] intended to put the United States squarely on the side of the Egyptian people who seek a civilian government that respects fundamental freedoms and the rule of law, and to clearly define the terms of our future relations with the Egyptian military.”

Today, speaking about the despicable and stomach-wrenching attacks by Islamists on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, and our embassy in Cairo, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton asked: “How could this happen in a country we helped liberate, in a city we helped save from destruction?”

That single line is the most damning indictment of Hillary Clinton’s State Department that could ever be penned. It demonstrates her complete lack of knowledge about the region, her failure to anticipate security threats, and worst of all, her willful ignorance about the Islamists that she and President Obama trusted to take over Libya and Egypt.

“How could this happen?”

Clinton, as Secretary of State, should know the answer to that question.
[The radio shows are talking about the fact that although the Islamists are saying their violent protests were caused by a movie made in America which insults Islam, and the White House is blaming Mitt Romney for his comments on the subject.  Shouldn't it be Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and the Democrat National Convention which might  better be blamed?  After all, Barack Obama has bragged that it was HE who had Osama Bin Laden killed, a fact which was touted 21 times at the convention.  That makes him the greatest infidel of all to Muslims.  Hillary cackled about the death of Gaddafi: "We came, we saw, Gaddafi is dead".  The words which the protesters are screaming to all who would listen, by the way is, "Obama, Obama, there are still a million Osamas."
To add to the mayhem, a Chicago Union official for the striking teachers there have stated that this is THEIR Arab Spring.  Such love and friendship has Obama's gentle persuasion wrought!]

According to the White House calendar, there is no public record of President Barack Obama attending his daily intelligence briefing--known as the Presidential Daily Brief (PDB)--in the week leading up to the attacks on the U.S. embassy in Cairo and the murder of U.S. Libyan Ambassador Chris Stevens and three American members of his staff:

The last time prior to the slayings that the White House calendar publicly confirms Mr. Obama attending his daily intelligence briefing was September 5th.
According to a recent study by the Government Accountability Institute, Mr. Obama has only attended 43.8 percent of his Presidential Daily Briefs in the first 1,225 days of his Administration.
The White House responded by claiming that President Obama reads daily intelligence reports, even if he does not attend the briefings personally.
President Barack Obama’s Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius violated the Hatch Act, the U.S. Office of Special Counsel said Wednesday.
Sebelius violated the law, the office said, when she publicly endorsed President Barack Obama’s re-election during a taxpayer-funded public event on Feb. 25, 2012.
“Secretary Sebelius and the Department of Health and Human Services reimbursed the U.S. government for all costs and expenses associated with her travel to the February 25, 2012, event,” Lerner continued. “HHS subsequently reclassified the trip from official to political and issued a statement to that effect. OSC found no evidence that Secretary Sebelius made any other political statements in her official capacity.”
The Federal Times suggests that Sebelius may be fired for her illegal activity. [Don't be counting on it.]

Up to 5,000 protesters are trying to storm the US embassy in Yemen as anger about an anti-Muslim film spreads in the Middle East.
Hundreds got past two police barricades and managed to get through the main gate into the US compound in Sanaa.
They were then driven back by security forces firing weapons into the air. TV pictures showed Yemenis trying to scale walls to get back into the compound.
Young demonstrators shouting "we redeem, Messenger of God" smashed windows of security offices outside the embassy and set fire to cars and tyres. Others held banners declaring "Allah is Greatest".

A timeline of yesterday's events shows that it took the Obama administration 16 hours to disavow a statement posted on the US Embassy in Cairo website. It appears that the administration's failure to correct the embassy and the doubling down by embassy staff 13 hours after the statement was published prompted Mitt Romney's curt comments about the administration's response.

White House declines Netanyahu request to meet with Obama

The White House's response marks a new low in relations between Netanyahu and Obama, underscored by the fact that this is the first time Netanyahu will visit the U.S. as prime minister without meeting Obama; PM to meet with Clinton.  [My guess is that he needs to go to yet another fundraiser, and the Dave Letterman show.  And let's not forget his meeting with Pimp with a Limp.  He sure doesn't want to talk about Israel prior to the election.]

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is making it clear that Israel will not wait to take out Iranian nuclear facilities.

In heated comments toward the United States, the Israeli prime minister said that it’s becoming clear that diplomacy will not work with Iran.
“The world tells Israel, `Wait. There’s still time,’” Netanyahu said Tuesday, according to The Associated Press. “And I say: `Wait for what? Wait until when?’ Those in the international community who refuse to put red lines before Iran don’t have a moral right to place a red light before Israel.”
But then, Obama has never seemed interested in fulfilling the actual duties of his office. As Peggy Noonan memorably wondered, why does Obama want to be re-elected? If he really wanted to be president, he could be the president now. Maybe the answer is that he is looking forward to November so he can get back to working on his golf game.
At 8:46 AM, in New York City and at the White House in Washington DC, there was a moment of silence to remember when the first plane hit the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. In New York, the NYPD, FDNY, Port Authority Police and the families of the victims were present, while in Washington the President and the First Lady led the moment.
The cable networks all carried it, with ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “CBS This Morning” carrying it as well. The only national general news program to not carry the moment of silence was NBC’s ‘Today,” which, in an odd bit of counter-programming, opted to air an interview with “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star Kris Jenner, who talked about the new season of the reality show, and her breast implants. [Just how long will patriotic Americans continue to watch?]
On the last night of the Democratic National Convention, a retired Navy four-star took the stage to pay tribute to veterans. Behind him, on a giant screen, the image of four hulking warships reinforced his patriotic message.
But there was a big mistake in the stirring backdrop: those are Russian warships.
While retired Adm. John Nathman, a former commander of Fleet Forces Command, honored vets as America’s best, the ships from the Russian Federation Navy were arrayed like sentinels on the big screen above.
“I was kind of in shock,” said Rob Barker, 38, a former electronics warfare technician who left the Navy in 2006. Having learned to visually identify foreign ships by their radars, Barker recognized the closest ship as the Kara-class cruiser Kerch.
“An immediate apology [from the committee] would be very nice,” Barker said. “Maybe acknowledge the fact that yes, they screwed up.”

Egyptian demonstrators climbed the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo today and pulled down the American flag to protest a film they say is insulting to the prophet Mohammad.

Krauthammer Rips Obama Regime For Issuing Apology To Muslims In Egypt After Embassy Attack, Tells Mob To “Go To Hell”…

“That statement is an embarrassment. That is a hostage statement. That’s a mob of al-Qaeda sympathizers in Egypt, forcing the United States make a statement essentially of apology, on 9/11 of all days, for something we’re not responsible. I would issue a statement saying to the mob, ‘go to hell.’ The way America works, the way democracy works is that everybody has a right to express themselves. We don’t police our speech. And you ought to apologize to the United States for storming the embassy and the violation of the ultimate sacred principle of democracy, which is protecting embassies and missions abroad. For the U.S. to essentially issue a veiled apology, I think is disgraceful.”-
"I'm outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi," the Republican presidential candidate said in a statement.
"It's disgraceful that the Obama administration's first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathise with those who waged the attacks."
[What's one more lie, anyway?] A longtime professor and one-time dean of the University of Chicago Law School told The Daily Caller that Barack Obama was never offered tenure, despite the assertions of a New York Times reporter who covers the president and the first family.
“Other faculty members dreamed of tenured positions; [Obama] turned them down,” wrote Times White House Correspondent Jodi Kantor, author of “The Obamas,” in a July 30, 2008 profile of the president’s twelve years as a lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School.
And yet, according to longtime University of Chicago law professor Richard Epstein, Obama was never actually offered a tenured faculty position. Nor, for that matter, was he ever a “constitutional law professor.”
The White House has touted the easy availability of President Barack Obama’s public schedule as part of his administration’s “commitment to open government.”
But there’s a lot the White House keeps off its regular rundown of the president’s day.
Obama has pledged to run the most transparent administration in history, yet the published schedule offers only a narrow window into his activities, a POLITICO review found.

There are tough-to-fathom omissions like leaving off a reception for AIDS activists and researchers that had already been announced on a White House blog. And seemingly deliberate ones, such as the absence of several meetings with House Speaker John Boehner at the height of debt ceiling negotiations. Others seem designed to downplay inconvenient or politically awkward events, such as meetings about the Sudan with actor George Clooney, a major contributor and fundraiser for the president.
A review of more than 4,000 photos posted to Flickr by official White House photographers since Obama took office in 2009 found about one-third of the events depicted were never on his public schedule. And, of course, many other unannounced events never make it to the Flickr feed at all.

  • Welfare Reform: Earlier this week, we pointed out that Republicans have an opportunity to force Obama’s hand on his gutting of welfare work requirements.  The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program is set to expire September 30.  Even with control over just one-half of……etc, Republicans can force Obama’s hand by simply refusing to pass a TANF reauthorization without an agreement to reinstate the work requirements.  They can pass a reauthorization with a provision banning Obama’s state waivers of the work requirements, ship it off to the Senate and dare Reid and Obama to rail against an 80/20 issue.  This would literally provide us with an opportunity to contrast a paycheck president vs. a food stamp president.
Instead, House Republicans have cooked up a ‘dirty’ CR that contains a ‘clean’ extension of TANF without the work requirement provision.  This will allow Democrats in the Senate to pass the CR, while concurrently consummating Obama’s violation of welfare reform without engaging in a standalone fight on the issue.

But fear not, House Republicans plan a cover vote next week on a resolution of disapproval of Obama’s HHS waiver.  That would be fine if they wouldn’t be approving it this week.

In case any of you are on Medicare Advantage Plans, you need to be aware of this change.
Watch this short 2 minute video and pass it on to all the seniors you know. Medicare Advantage cuts begin in mid-October of this year. Seniors vote, and they need to know this cut is coming before the election. Time is running out for seniors unaware of this.
Transparency in action? I think you should know this.
Remember what FDR said, "There are no coincidences in politics..." [Are you aware of the fact that the Obama Administration tried to stop the Department of Defense from following the law by giving a 6 weeks notice of pending layoffs?  Yes, Obama didn't want them to know the effects of his Sequestration law's effects (tens of thousands of layoffs) until after the election.]

Here is my response to a friend asking me about this: This scheme to prevent bad news til after Obama's possible reelection is old hat for Obama, so it is easy to believe that there is a surprise in store for us after the election regarding Medicare pricing.  Just why do you think that the DEMOCRAT Senate has failed for 3 years to carry out its Constitutional duty to pass a budget each year?  They are putting off the adult conversations til after the election so as not to offend their constituents, that is why. Meanwhile they can condemn Romney and Ryan for actually acting like adults who want to save our economy. This is the same reason so many of Obamacare's mandates don't start til AFTER his reelection.  And scheduled tax increases are set to begin AFTER his reelection.  Get the idea?

I was thrown out of our Medicare Advantage over a year ago, as Michigan Blue Cross/Blue Shield no longer offers it..  And it is entirely true that more than $600 billion will be taken from Medicare reimbursements to hospitals and doctors in order to have that money support Obamacare so that it might look more cost efficient.  And yes, we are paying for it for 4 years prior to full implementation in order to make the 10 year numbers look artificially good. The old Ryan plan would have cut about the same amount by finding cost savings like fraud, but the money would have stayed in Medicare.  Obama's plan takes that money directly out and puts it directly into Obamacare.  If you think for a minute that Obamacare will save money, you simply have not been paying attention to the Congressional Budget Office's numbers once the truth of the thing was given to them.

Be prepared for doctors to retire or to quit taking Medicare patients. and for more small hospitals to just shut down their operations.  Look for the panel of Presidential appointees to decide that at a certain age, certain surgeries will no longer be time and money worthy.  Too bad - as Obama said, "perhaps it will be better to just give you a pill."  Sounds good, unless it is you he is talking about.

I've read that Republics don't last more that about 235 years, because by then more than half of the people desire not to work because they have finagled money from government.  The other 50% just can't keep up.  As Margaret Thatcher said about Socialism, sooner or later they run out of other people's money.  This election shall decide the future of America - and I am truly scared.

Barack Obama, I can assure you, is not the man most Democrats thought him to be. He truly thinks America became powerful by bringing other countries down, and he believes our country should be no better than any other.  So, if we take our money and send it to the rest of the world, that just might happen.

But - ask me how I really feel!  King Barack is a danger to our country!

I just wanted to share Pete [Hoekstra's] new web ad with you, titled "Meet the Parents."  It discusses the specific aspects of Debbie Stabenow's record that make her the "worst senator."  If you could pass this around to your contacts via Facebook, Twitter, and email, that would greatly help us get Pete's message out on a grassroots level.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Major defense contractors have confirmed they’ll send tens of thousands of employee layoff warnings shortly before Election Day, according to correspondence released Monday by Arizona Sen. John McCain.
McCain, the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, wants to jump-start congressional action to avert automatic, across-the-board budget restrictions set to take effect early next year. Hawks and defense vendors hope the threat of mass layoff warnings in late October will light a fire under a deadlocked Congress. Already, they point out the mere threat of the year-end “sequester” is hurting the defense industry and the broader national economy.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was pretty obvious to me what Mitt Romney was doing last week in Tampa when he said, with a smile, “President Obama promised to begin to slow the rise of the oceans and heal the planet. MY promise…is to help you and your family.”
But the joke wasn’t rising sea levels. The joke was that Obama could control the sea levels. He can’t. Under no circumstance could public policy slow sea-level rise in the next 35 years. More on that below.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The New York Post has accepted a full-page ad declaring Barack Obama’s real biological father is the late Communist Party activist Frank Marshall Davis, not the Kenyan Barack Hussein Obama.
Filmmaker Joel Gilbert makes the case in his full-length documentary “Dreams from My Real Father: A Story of Reds and Deception.”
The ad will run in the Post’s New York City, national and international editions Tuesday and Sunday. [Click on the link to see for yourself.]  In July, Gilbert tried to place a similar version of his full-page advertisement in three of the nation’s most prominent newspapers – USA Today, the Washington Post and the New York Times – offering first to pay USA Today $90,000.
President Obama told book author Bob Woodward he “made a mistake” criticizing Paul Ryan during a 2011 speech that Ryan attended.
“I’ll go ahead and say it — I think that I was not aware when I gave that speech that Jack (sic – Paul) Ryan was going to be sitting right there,” Obama told Woodward, reports ABC World News, which reviewed an audio tape of the interview.
There’s just one thing…
Obama personally invited Paul Ryan to the speech… And Paul Ryan RSVP’d the White House saying he would be there.
Seventy-nine percent of the 8th graders in the Chicago Public Schools are not grade-level proficient in reading, according to the U.S. Department of Education, and 80 percent are not grade-level proficient in math.
Chicago public school teachers went on strike on Monday and one of the major issues behind the strike is a new system Chicago plans to use for evaluating public school teachers in which student improvement on standardized tests will count for 40 percent of a teacher's evaluation. Until now, the evaluations of Chicago public school teachers have been based on what a Chicago Sun Times editorial called a "meaningless checklist." [Another issue is that they are demanding a 16% pay increase!]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------On July 2 of this year, Daniels filed suit in Geauga County (Ohio) Common Pleas Court demanding that Jon Husted, Ohio secretary of state, remove Obama's name from the ballot until Obama can prove the validity of his Social Security number.
Husted has responded by seeking to dismiss Daniels' complaint, claiming that it has no basis in law.  Daniels fired back that President Barack Obama has violated Ohio's identity theft statute that "expressly prohibits the use of another's 'personal identifying information' and expressly lists the use of another's 'Social Security number' as prohibited."  She did not expect much out of Husted, and her expectations appear to have been met.
Friday, Daniels took another tack.  She filed a sworn affidavit under Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 2935.09, which allows a private citizen "having knowledge of the facts" to request prosecution or arrest of an individual who has committed a crime.  The affidavit makes the case clearly.

The No More Solyndras Act was designed to prevent other failures like Solyndra from happening in the future, which is something every taxpayer should like if they recall how much Solyndra cost them – half a billion dollars for those keeping score.  It does so by phasing out the Department of Energy’s (DOE) loan guarantee program under Title XVII of the Energy Policy Act of 2005.  It would also require the DOE to report to Congress on the decision-making process and details of the loan, improving loan transparency and further protecting taxpayers.

Obama's flop of a speech; The faulty thinking of black Christians; $1 million reward offered; WE are the change, according to Obama; Fact-checking Biden, as asked; The real unemployment picture; Romney to keep some of Obamacare; $60 million a year to operate 9/11 Memorial; How Biden got his job

Verdict is in: Obama speech a flop - even with Democrats

Politico is blaming this on Obama's strict adherence to the "politics of 2012" -- "a race that has been defined by relentless, almost mechanical efforts to motivate voters with narrow appeals to specific constituencies and to destroy the opposition as a credible alternative."
Such may be the case, especially since for the first time in 30 years, a sitting president had absolutely no case to make for his own re-election. Even rhetorically (forget the delivery) the speech fell flat. It was like giving a sports report and not mentioning the scores.

In every important respect Obama’s victory in the 2008 presidential election was a victory for racism. First there was the racist claim that his skin color made his election somehow significant for black Americans with whom he otherwise shares no common moral or historical heritage. Second, his stubborn advocacy of the parent’s right to murder her child made it a victory in principle for the racist notion that ‘inferior’ physical development leaves people with no rights that must be respected by their supposed betters. Third, the U.S. Constitution has been openly set aside on account of fears that racist violence would result from investigating the facts regarding his citizenship at birth (lest they support the conclusion that he is constitutionally ineligible to serve as president of the United States.) Truth, right and the Constitution – all sacrificed for the sake of racist fears and premises.”
For all the Democrats’ talk of unity, the years during which Obama has occupied the White House seem to me to have left our country more deeply and critically divided than at any time in its history (excepting perhaps the years just before the Civil War.
At the Democrats’ convention this week, these black Christians saw the fruits of their idolatry. They saw the party that lifted up their idol expunge the name of God from its platform. And when some sought, for cynical political reasons, to mitigate the assault with just one mention of God’s name, they saw and heard the wave of sacrilegious scorn and contempt that rose to drown out the feebler voices that were raised to support the gesture. (The proposal passed, but only because the chairman’s gavel tolled a lie.)
Did black Christian voters feel the shame of this demonstration of hatred and contempt toward God, whose hymns of praise and honor they profess to sing?
Will the Christian conscience of black Americans sleep forever? Or will they rise to join with others who reject would-be leaders, whatever party label they wear, who openly reject God; or who give hollow lip-service to His name but reject His authority in their policies and actions.
(CNN) - A magazine known for its sexually explicit material is offering a reward of $1 million dollars for a different type of bare-all expose.
The publisher of Hustler magazine, Larry Flynt, is offering the sum for the skinny on GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's financials, the magazine announced.
[Although she is explaining her disappointment in her Barack Obama and disdaining Republicans, here is an amazing column from the radical Left Maureen Dowd on the ways in which Obama has failed her.]
HOW did the one formerly known as The One go for two?
In his renomination acceptance speech here on Thursday night, he told us that America’s problems were tougher to solve than he had originally thought.
And that’s why he has kindly agreed to give us more time.
Because, after all, it’s our fault.
“So you see, the election four years ago wasn’t about me,” President Obama explained. “It was about you. My fellow citizens, you were the change.”
We were the change!
We were the change? Us?

“Only you can make sure that doesn’t happen,” the president chastised us. “Only you have the power to move us forward.”
We’re so lame. We were naïve, brimming with confidence that we could slow the rise of the oceans, heal the planet, fix the cracks in the Capitol dome.
Today, Vice President Biden said that he should be fact checked, and we agree,” said Romney campaign spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg. “The vice president knowingly and deliberately leveled false and discredited attacks. This is further proof that the Obama Campaign is unable and unwilling to talk honestly or substantively about the most important issues driving the country."
[For example:] Among the questionable remarks were Biden's argument that "after the worst job loss since the Great Depression we created 4.5 million private sector jobs in the past 29 months" – a frequent response by the Obama campaign when questioned about the slow economic recovery.
The Associated Press and others point out that statement is misleading because it counts jobs from the recession's lowest point to where employment began to grow again – excluding jobs lost earlier in Obama's term and masking that overall unemployment has increased over that period. [This reminds me of the "hockey stick"  lie supposedly proving global warming.  Simply start your statistics at the place that would give you the results you desire.]
When you include the underutilized labor figure with the eight million Americans who have lost hope altogether and stopped looking for a job, real unemployment now stands at just under 19 percent. 2.  If the labor force were the same as when President Obama took office in January 2009, the unemployment rate reported on Friday would be 11.2 percent
3.  A record 88,921,000 Americans are no longer in the labor force. To be included in that figure, an individual must be over 16 years of age, a civilian, not in a mental hospital or nursing home, and have stopped hunting for a job for at least four weeks.
4.  The average American lost 40 percent of their wealth from 2007 to 2010.
Romney, who faces Obama in the Nov. 6 election, has vowed throughout the campaign to repeal and replace the Obama healthcare law. But asked about the Obama healthcare law on NBC's "Meet the Press" program, Romney said, "Well, I'm not getting rid of all of healthcare reform."
"Of course, there are a number of things that I like in healthcare reform that I'm going to put in place," Romney added. "One is to make sure that those with pre-existing conditions can get coverage. Two is to assure that the marketplace allows for individuals to have policies that cover their family up to whatever age they might like." [To those who are alarmed by this, keep in mind that he never said he would do away with all healthcare reforms, and the pre-existing conditions coverage is for those who have continuously had insurance.  Reforms do need to be made, just not the entirety of Obamacare.]

This kind of mechanism, using high-risk pools combined with prohibitions on pre-existing condition exclusions for the continuously insured, has been part of just about every conservative health-care proposal in recent years, including John McCain’s in 2008, the Ryan-Coburn alternative to Obamacare, and the congressional Republicans’ “Pledge to America” before the 2010 elections (as well as older proposals in the Bush years).  The basic structure of these different proposals is very similar, and is based on many years of conservative policy proposals along these lines—here’s a great detailed overview of how this would work.- [I have often thought that when a person leaves employment with one company, he should be able to keep that same insurance policy instead of having to pick up a new one, sometime with a pre-existing condition.]
With its huge reflecting pools, ringed by waterfalls and skyscrapers, and a cavernous underground museum still under construction, the National September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center is an awesome spectacle that moved and inspired some 4.5million visitors in its first year.
But all that  magnificence comes with a jaw-dropping price tag. The foundation that runs the memorial estimates that once the $700million project is complete, the memorial and museum will together cost $60million a year to operate.

Book: Mafia Hit-Man & Teamster Boss Helped Joe Biden Become U.S. Senator

The book I Heard You Paint Houses came out in 2003, so it’s been gathering some dust on a number of bookshelves around the country for quite some time.
The book’s title, according to Amazon, comes from the first words infamous Teamster boss Jimmy Hoffa ever spoke to Frank “the Irishman” Sheeran. To paint a house is to kill a man. The paint is the blood that splatters on the walls and floors.
The book is essentially the deathbed biography of one-time Delaware Teamster boss and mob hit-man Frank Sheeran and truly is a fascinating read.

While the book has been out for some time, it wasn’t until last night, during Joe Biden’s prime time speech, that I was reminded of some of the book’s contents, most notably this piece that appeared in the Orange County Register a few weeks ago:
One additional item relates to Biden’s integrity. In the fascinating biography of Teamsters and Mafia hit-man Frank Sheeran, “I Heard You Paint Houses,” the lifelong thug describes a favor he performed while he was president of Teamsters Local 326 in Wilmington, Delaware.
In 1972 Sheeran received a visit from “a very prominent lawyer” he knew who was “very big in the Democratic Party” in Delaware. The November general election was approaching, and the race for the U.S. Senate seat held by a Republican was expected to be close. The lawyer wanted help in preventing the distribution of a paid Republican political ad – an insert in the Delaware-wide newspapers – that would run for a week and expose the campaign misrepresentations by the Democratic challenger. Sheeran promised the operative that he “would hire some people and put them on the picket line.” He added, “People nobody would mess with.”
The picket line went up, the papers were not delivered all week, and, as Sheeran said, “The day after the election the informational picket line came down, and the newspaper went back to normal and Delaware had a new United States Senator.” His name was Joe Biden. Thereafter, said admitted extortionist, thief and murderer Sheeran, of Biden, “You could reach out for him, and he would listen.” [Emphasis added.]
So, there you have it. The Vice President of the United States got his job as U.S. Senator with help from a Mafia hit-man and Delaware Teamster boss. No wonder Barack Obama keeps Joe as his running mate.
